Definitely, the location near USC is the primary reason for picking this property. There can be a lot of noise though. It was also a pleasant surprise to find a simple but adequate breakfast offered.
My expectations for a motel of this modest nature and they certainly met these expectations. Perhaps, even surpased modest expectations. It's a generally adequate motel that was more expensive than expected, though it's one of the very few motels within walking distance of USC campus. I believe they tailor the property to be acceptable to parents visiting USC students. It is nice to have a small refrigerator and microwave in the room.
location and convenience. comfortable and clean bed. spacious room.
strong smell of cleaning agent. internet connection is very slow.the TV is still CRT. way too old even it matters only little to us.

Bed was comfortable. The only good thing in that hotel. Neigborhood seemed unsafe.
Yes, the water in the shower in our room was either hot or cold. The lever for the water did not allow for a balance for hot and cold. The bathtub floor still had remnants of dirt. Bleached would have taken that out.Ceilings had stains. Mirror for a headboard. No towel racks to hangs wet towels, no hooks or at least a closet to hang clothing on and only 1 face towel and 2 towels were provided. I've been in other motels that had more things provided for the price equal to what i paid here.
The TV was directly in front of the door, an ideal position if you are trying to dissuade potential robbers, because they will definitely hit their heads on it and knock themselves out.The staff here regarded us as they would a cockroach, except that we were paying patrons. That being said, we were promptly informed that there was a $10 key deposit, which was not mentioned anywhere. Additionally, we paid another $10 for an extra person, as the maximum residents allowed are 2, but had to give up our forms of ID to be copied, lest we decide to run off with the TV. Overall, the entire experience was as pleasant as a trip to the DMV at Friday during lunch. Do yourself a favor. If you are visiting USC, do yourself a favor and pay the extra $10 dollars to book a better place, where you're less likely to get robbed and the owners won't immediately assume you to be a prostitute.

The staff was very accommodating to our requests
The rooms did not have microwaves as advertised and rooms smelled like smoke. Also, the bathroom fans were coated in dust like they have never been cleaned.

pool out of service the only hotel I've ever seen without free WiFi security harassed me about sitting on a stair. uncomfortable bed bathroom door does not close crappy 15 year old TV with horrible picture. Thin sheets and blanketin a nutshell in the one of the worst hotel that I've stayed at.
Cleanliness. The blanket is not clean at all.The WIFI speed is okay.

AREA AND DIRTYscary area I was so afraid. I did not even stay for more then a hour
the people were as nice as the price :)
well .. they don't have a fridge nor do they have an ice machinethe hotel itself is in a shitty location and it almost looks like it's falling apart yet, once you walk into the room it's nicer then expected(considering the buildings condition) there is no ice machine or fridge so expect to make plenty of trips to the store. they should consider selling ice or putting a machine in since getting out of the parking lot isn't easy and it isn't a safe area to walk around. you get what you pay for.

Extremely clean. Enclosed parking lot was private and safe feeling. Friendly staff and neighborhood. BEAUTIFUL view of downtown skyline in the neighborhood.
It's not 'did not like' because I understand that this hotel is a very good value and they must keep costs low, but if I were to improve anything it'd be 1. Put 2-3 bars of soap in each room, and 2. Make the shower water hotter (mine was just warm).Everything was immaculately clean and many items, like the A/C and tiles, seemed new. It's hardwood floor, no carpet. Very large room and bathroom, walk in shower, King size bed (in my room anyway), desk, and chair. Plenty of parking in a clean parking lot, and lots of light/sun can come in your window if you like. I was very happy here. It exceeded my expectations and I will return next time I need a hotel in LA :)
surprisingly clean and new conditioned as a decent motel.you may easily judge the location of Sandpiper, some may call it 'the hood', but my husband and i walked to the Mexican grocery store right down the block and felt pretty good. Good location relatively to Los Angeles. Very clean room and new, good space, flat screen TV, free WIFI, good shower, there was nothing to complain about. :) We stayed for two days during the weekend.

The staff was nice...but that's the only positive thing I have to say.
It was a sh!thole! Sheets were stained, TWO tiny towels, NO washcloths, no closet, no smoke alarm AND there were exposed wires hanging from where it should be. No toiletries, either.DON'T STAY HERE unless you like to literally stay in a filthy box.
the sealed window not allow fresh air ingood location, not so clean, sealed windows, reasonable price

convenience and staff
beds need to be updated. sheets, comforter and mattress. This is my 2nd stay and plan to stay again in October. Price is right considering how centrally located they are to Staples Center and garment district.
Parking area felt safe. We got to check in early because they had a room ready.
When housekeeping came in each day while we were gone at a trade show, they would turn off the A/C, so when we came back the room was hot and stuffy. Also they made the bed with bottom sheet too short on 2 of the days we stayed. Odd.Staff very friendly. Neighborhood a little sketchy and smelly, but the hotel itself felt safe and was clean.
Featuring an outdoor pool in the building, this LA loft features an outdoor patio and free Wi-Fi. Staples Center, Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE and Los Angeles Convention Center are within 7 minutes’ walk.
