Didn't like much, it was a place to sleep.
Shady, not very clean and damp. The rooms are converts from permanents and seems like not a lot of care is given to them. Carpets are disgusting.
Location. Hot breakfast. Front desk staff.
The room AC did not work from the time I checked in. I notified the staff. The front desk staff was willing to switch my room. The manager told her that the room was fixed. He told me that there wasn't any room available, which was a lie.
No king size bed, the elevator was broken, the a/c was broken and leaking all over the floor, the toilet was broken and when it overflowed after 3 attempts to fix it, no one came to sanitize the bathroom. There was no offer to move to another room.
The location was perfect for what I was in town for. Good spaces in the room, liked that I couldn't see the kitchenette from the bed. Friendly staff! The free breakfast was well above what I was expecting!
Some of the entrance door locks (the kind you open with your key) were broken and we had to walk around. Not a big deal once we knew where they were. Floor in the bathroom felt like it needed a good steam clean.
The breakfast was mostly good. The kitchen in the room was nice, although I did not use it. The staff was very good, especially at my check in and check out.
Do not eat the waffles¿ those were nasty. The fridge in the room was a little loud at times.
It is located right across the street from Texas Tech University.
There was trash paper on the floor when we arrived. We stayed two nights and the cleaning staff never did clean it up. The elevator floor was nasty after dogs urinated and slobbered on the floor and it was never thoroughly cleaned.
Had to change rooms. Fold out bed broken.
Toilet flange broken. Water on floor.
The staff was extremely nice. The room was a really good size and it even had a fully stocked small kitchen. The bed was comfortable.
The shower was sub-par (water pressure). There were a few stains on the carpet, but not too bad. There was never enough food put out for breakfast. I never did get my eggs. There was a volleyball tournament and concert that weekend.
Room size and suite was nice, but 2nd bed is a fold out couch.
Fold out couch as a 2nd bed.
The kitchen was large. I liked it though I had no use for it. If I where to stay in this hotel again it would have to be alone for an extended about of time.
Did not like the fact I was given a hotel that did not have 2 beds. I had to sleep on a sofa couch with my son. We were very uncomfortable. There also was no indoor pool. I wouldn't have chosen this hotel myself for those two reasons.
Nice room that was well appointed. Very nice staff from housekeeping to front desk
Breakfast was fine but nothing special.
Everyone was so friendly. Great room. Convenient location.
What I got was not a room it was more like an apartment, it had an equipped kitchenette with living room and bedroom. It was very spacious, very clean, very comfortable bed & very quiet too. I loved it. The breakfast was very good too.
There's nothing to complain about.
Close to University
Not as well kept as I was expecting
I was there for three nights. NO HOT WATER. That might not matter to some, but I like a hot shower.
Was put in a handicapped room
rooms were clean and spacious. Not many amenities such as shower caps, etc.
I thought the quality of the hotel for the money was less than I'd expect but that seems the norm in Lubbock
Helpful staff and lots of options for included-in-room breakfast. If saying longer, the kitchen would be nice or make use of. Large room.
Having stayed at other Staybridges, was expecting this one to be more like them: newer, updated and bigger exercise room with lots more machines. This was a rather tired looking and stale-smelling hotel.
Overall a nice place. Pool was closed. Coffee was always available and good. Room was stuffy and smelled musty but we weren't there much and it was nothing a few placed drier sheets couldn't freshen up. No time for the complimentary breakfast so not sure how it was. Reasonable prices in the pantry.
We always stay here when we visit the kids at college. The staff is friendly, the food is good, everything is clean, and it's dog friendly. We love that it's right across the street from TTU.
Great room, very clean and in a great location. If you are a light sleeper I would not reccomend staying here as the walls are VERY thin& leave nothing to the imagination as to what is going on next door:)
I recently stayed at the Staybridge Suites while in Lubbock. One of the reasons I chose it was because of the internet access it supposedly provided. Unfortuantely, it was not available. Even more unfortuantely, I was given lies and broken promises. I arrived around 4:00 pm and tried to use the internet. I could connect to the hotel's network, but not the internet. [For the techies among you, the hotel's router was not working correctly as a DHCP server and wasn't issuing IP addresses.] I called the support line, and was told that the problem would be fixed in 20 minutes. I waited and tried again. Still no luck. I called support again and was told that level two support would call me back shortly. I waited and never received a call. Between 4:00 pm and midnight, I called support five or six times. Each time I was either told that the problem would be fixed in twenty minutes or that I would get a call back shortly. None of that ever happened. I then went down to the front desk and was basically told that there were known problems with the hotel's internet access, that it was set up incorrectly, and that there were no promises of when or even if it would be available. Since internet access was critical to me because I had work to get done, had I been told about the problems at 4:00 pm I would have switched hotels. Because of lies and mis-information, I lost a night of work. Given the number of good hotels in Lubbock, I will not go back to the Staybridge Suites and I can't recommend it to anyone who cares about internet access or who cares about quality support and being told the truth.
I think that the prices on game days there at Tech are way too much money. I don't think its fair to the people coming in for the game to have to pay double the amount in price just because its a game day. People are on a budget and if they want to stay at your facility they will have to give up something that they plan on doing because they want to stay at your place. If you have people that are coming in to see their children that are at Tech they don't want to spend that much money for a room that they will only sleep, shower in. I still think you all would get booked up because you are a nicer facility but don't overcharge the people especially if those people could give you more business. The amounts that you are charging is way to high for game days, don't do this to the people who make your business thrive and not go down hill. Also you need to make sure that your A/C and refridgerators don't make so much noise when they come on and off. That keeps people up and gets them cranky.\nBut all in all I love your place and what you have done with it but the cost is too high!!!
Great place to stay. Friendly staff, good breakfast, fast computer, right across from TTU. Only negative was pool/hot tub was a little dirty looking. Hot tub was not hot either.
