Clean rooms, fantastic service, good food and get the massage!
The people at the front desk were very helpful, the room and bathroom was very clean, the mattress was not so comfortable
The restaurant and food service needs help. We had an excellent breakfast buffet one day but dinner one night was very bad. Cold, over breaded calamari that had to be sent back, Caesar salad that was bland, and soup that wasn't hot. Staff needs more training and better grasp of English.
We were really quite happy with Camino Real. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. We were able to save money by sleeping 3 adults (comfortably) in one room. 'Enjoyed the pool and grounds and really liked the restaurant.
We only spent one night at the Camino, However from the time we got in the transfer from the airport to the time we checked out, The staff we're extremely welcoming and helpful. The breakfast in the morning was a great deal and was full of many dishes along with a great variety of fresh fruit. We will definitely stay at the Camino on our next visit.
We've stayed here many times over the years. The rooms are nice, the facility is nice, the front desk staff speak English, and the other staff are friendly, the breakfast is good, and it's real convenient to the airport. The only downside on our recent visit was that the dinner was not as good quality as in the past. It's a little expensive for Nicaragua, but the hotel is as nice as many hotels in the USA.
After staying in small rooms in crowded villages all over Nicaragua, we caught a $15 cab from Managua to the Camino Real for our last day and night, relaxing by the pool, with a large sunlit room, sumptuous breakfast buffet, and a free shuttle to the airport. It's not the real Nicaragua experience, but it was a perfect end to our wonderful vacation. Not the main meal, but a delicious dessert.
The hotel is close to the airport, the room was clean, we had a great massage and the food was excellent, a buffet breakfast was included with our hotel. The wedding we attended was at the hotel, we would come here again!
This hotel was a great value for the money. For what you get, it was at least $* less than a comparable hotel stateside. Only issue was that the restaurant menu was a little too 'americanized'...however, the food was great, and of ample quantity. Restaurant staff is slow, and spends more time looking busy than actually doing anything. It takes them 5-6 'hurried' trips to set one table, when they could have done it in one. They scurry quickly back and forth, but never seem to accomplish much, almost as if they were setting tables one utensil at a time, and making a trip back to the kitchen to get each implement. When dinner finally arrives, it is a real surprise, because the chef apparently knows his craft. We ate at a time when the restaurant was devoid of people, yet 5 waiters were moving around like they had 100 customers...and it took at least an hour for dinner to finally arrive.
My husband & I stayed here the evening prior to leaving Nicaragua and returning to Madison WI. After staying in several hotels in Mangua, as well Granada, this was our favorite. The first thing you notice is the beautiful building and surroundings and the very attentive staff. Our luggage was whisked away by the bellman and we were shown to an immaculate room not far from the check-in desk. My husband is 86 and I'm near 70, so this was really thoughtful and covenient to be so close to the pool, dining area and fitness center. We had one of the most delicious meals of our 2 week trip in the dining area of shrimp, avocado, luscious greens, hot habaneros and lots of garlic oil accented with a lovely glass of red wine. Unreal!!! If you're looking for a hotel near the airport - 2 minutes away - don't miss an opportunity to stay here.....
The staff quoted my wife one price (she's Latin) and when I walked in the door the price suddenly jumped by several dollars. Pretty place, but questionable pricing/discount strategies and in a very rough part of Managua.
