This hotel is NOT a 2 star hotel.Room almost the size of the bed. No place to sit except on the bed. TV remote did not work, bed side lamp did not work. Bed very uncomfortable. This hotel in my opinion is not even a 1 STAR hotel. This hotel needs a complete overhaul. This type of hotel rated as 2 Star makes you question using Priceline as a booking agent again.I am booking the rest of my vacation with Best Western and Holiday Inn Express. I know what to expect with those hotels.
The woman at the check in desk was very friendly, she smiled, made eye contact and gave us useful information. The room was very clean. The location was close to everything we wanted to do.
The carpet was stained and the entry door needed repair. For the price this hotel was comfortable, well located in town with walking distance to a very good restaurant. It was easy to find and access to and from the highway was also easy. The service at check-in was excellent. The room was very clean and all utilities worked well. The exterior has been painted and looks better than the photo on the Priceline website.
Within walking distance of downtown Manitou Springs.
Location and staff were excellent.
Rooms were very small, and it is FAR from a 2 star hotel, in my opinion. Furniture very old and falling apart, comfort of bed was horrible. Didn't really like that I had my 'do not disturb' sign in my door, however maids ignored it and went in, anyway.Great location, excellent front desk staff. Old, worn out furniture and mattresses.
You can tell the owner takes pride in the hotel. For as old school as it is, it is very kept up and modern in the rooms.
A little further from Colorado springs than I expected but it's a definite tourist zone. The only thing I didn't like was the set office hours because I felt like I was being a nuisance by checking in kind of late and had to wait til morning to get wifiIt was actually a really great hotel with a great view and kind of a neat old school feel at the foot of pikes peak and garden of the gods. I liked that I could park right outside my door to unload the car and the breakfast wasn't oober special but more than I expected. I would stay there again. I just wish I had time to enjoy the area. The owner and staff were very nice and you can tell that they're all about keeping the hotel up to par.
The location was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The room was clean.
The wireless Internet didn't work and the cell phone service is non-existent on the entire property. I felt cut off from the world...maybe that was the point. I didn't appreciate it though. And they should have an iron and ironing board in the room.I wouldn't stay here again. Couldn't wait to leave. In fact, I considered hopping over to the Best Western next door. The German lady at the front desk was so rude and aloof. When I arrived, there was no one at the front desk for the first 15 mins... Oh and the breakfast room smells really bad. The redeemable qualities are that the room in fact is very clean and has mostly what u need in a standard room and the views from the Hotel are cool. Not breath-takin but good. Nice to be close to Garden of the gods.
Close to the highway and restaurants. The price was great, the place was clean and pretty quiet. Nice view of Pike's Peak.
Office didn't open until 7:30AM and we wanted to be out by 6AM. The continental breakfast was fairly limited so we had to find a restaurant that was open early then go back to give the keys back to the desk.If you are looking for an inexpensive place to sleep that is close to both the highway and the downtown Colorado Springs area, this is a great little motel. We usually stay at some of the big name hotels and so we were pleasantly surprised that this place had most of the amenities the more expensive places have. There was neither a microwave nor a refrigerator and the bed was a little firm for our taste, but not entirely uncomfortable. The room was air conditioned and had great room darkening drapes. The TV was old school and reception wasn't the best, but it's hard to know if that was the fault of the TV or the reception i...
I really liked the retro look. Our room view was beautiful. I also liked that there was no big lobby or long hallways to walk through to get to your room. We were able to park directly in front of our door!
The air conditioning cooler was loud. But, not a huge problem - just opened our window for fresh air!Easy access, great location!
It had a great view.
We were charged $15 more upon arrival to have a second bed in the room and not just one queen size bed. There was no phone or fridge or microwave in our room, even though the rooms on both sides of us had them, and there was supposed to be.This is a tourist trap type hotel. It is only open seasonally, and seems to be maintained only seasonally. We paid $30 dollars less the next night for a room at another hotel and it was much better equipped, much cleaner and the tv worked properly. It just seemed to be too high a cost for what we got, and I do not think it merits a 2 star rating with Priceline. The clerk also charged us an additional amount to have 2 queen beds, saying that Priceline does this to them all the time, (though we have never had the issue before and never been charged more on top of the Priceline price we paid). On the plus side, we really had a nice view outside of our door of parts of Garden of the Gods.
