Could have to do with the seedy part of town we seemed to be in but this motel left a little to be desired, although it sufficed for what we needed it for which was a one night stay before heading to the airport. The staff was reasonably pleasant. It wasn't dirty per se but was very run down and therefore came across as dirty. It felt like a place for transients more so than travelers although the first place we stopped when trying to find this place was MUCH worse so I guess we fared out okay. All in all, if you just need a cheap place to stay, it seemed safe enough but don't expect serious comfort or quality.
We stayed at the hotel from 7/23/20 and 7/24/10. The parking lot was filled with cups and trash. I do not know if the hotel is used as a housing hotel. There was an unusual amount of traffic comming in and out of the lobby. There were young people in the parking lot leaning on the parked cars. The security guard was having a very rude and loud conversation on his cellphone. The front desk clerk informed that we would have to wait to check in as they were changing shifts. When we got to the room the a/c was blowing hot air. We came late so we went to bed. In the mornning we changed rooms due to the a/c. We left some belongings in the first room. We went back 15 minutes later, and the items were gone. The staff did not know anything about the items. The room was not cleaned, but the items were gone. The second room, the sink was clogged up and would overfill when we brushed our teeth. We paid for 2 nights so we stayed but never again
I recently went to Memphis with my fiance and was looking for a place within budget to stay and found this one. The pictures looked really nice and i thought it was decent, until i pulled up. I've seen some bad places before but this one was beyond words. The indian guy was totally rude to us, the air didnt work and the hotel was jus filty like something you'd see out a horror movie. Anybody that tells you this place is nice is soooooo lying. It's a dump!!! I left the same night and went back to Nashville because i was so not going to stay there. I didnt ask for a refund or nothing i just wanted to get away. I booked threw travel website and i wish they would take these people off the list because it isn't worth it. I left them $* which is what i paid and left with nothing to say. Hopefully they use the money to clean that dump up! Someone should really call the health department on them!!!
The staff was friendly and the free wifi was great. But then theres the rest... There were little black hairs all over the sheets, the shower gave you no control of water temp it went from burning hot to freezing cold with out ever touching the handle, When we went to bed (we had 2 double beds so hubby was in his own bed) my husband was bitten by bugs 6 different times (i counted the bite marks once the hives were gone) whatever it was caused an allergic reaction which kept him up exploding from both ends and covered in hives. The tray the ice bucket was on was labeled as comfort inn, the cups had holiday inn printed on them and the 2 soaps in the bathroom were from the aladdin casino. There is ONE ice machine on the 1st floor and the pool has been filled in and is growing grass. The hot breakfast consisted of coffee, water, pink lemonaid, rock hard biscuits, bagels, toast, peanut butter, jam, and butter. Thats it no waffles no cereal nothing. My daughter walked across our room after taking her shoes off and her feet were black by the time she got to the other side thats how dirty the carpet was. We were only staying one night so we dealt with it. The allergic reaction upset me BUT it was 330am by the time my husband was able to leave the bathroom and to late to go somewhere else. So no never again. The ONLY positive was that the staff was nice.
It was a nice place with a very helpful staff and one of the best economy hotels I've been to. It is not much expensive and I recommend people to visit this hotel. We went for a relaxing weekend and enjoyed it.
First, I must say the staff was very nice & friendly & truely seemed to want to please. BUT, aside from them, the stay was horrible. Hotel is not only old & in disrepair, but also quite frankly, bordering on filthy. I thought we were in trouble when we first arrived & noticed the doors & windows were completely smudged - looks like they had no idea what 'windex' is, both front lobby & individual rooms. The first room we were assigned was bad. My daughter & I both pulled down the covers on the beds & decided immediately we couldn't sleep on those sheets - definetely not clean! We were taken to a different room - Sheets seemed better, but basically we were grossed out. Carpeting was stained, walls were stained both in main room & bath. I didn't know if we should stay there at all, but my daughter said she could stand it if we went to walmart to buy a can of lysol & a couple pillow covers, so we did. We survived. Will never return here again!
The room was perfectly adequate and the hotels facilities were good. The breakfast room was small but had a good selection, and was constantly restocked by a staff member. There is a laundry on site with a jumbo ice machine, and plenty of parking. The location is great being on the main street, and is within walking distance of a supermarket and a number of restaurants. There is also a computer in the lobby with free internet access that we used to plan future accommodation on our road trip which is a definite a plus point in my book. We had a problem in locating our room and we were promptly given great assistance by the front desk staff. Excellent customer service. This was one of the cheaper places we stayed on our trip. Real Value Inn is an ideal hotel if you are touring Graceland and desire to stay near the Memphis airport. Also, this hotel is about few miles from downtown if you want to tour Beale Street, Sun Studios, Mud Island and the Peabody hotel. The staff is friendly and they have preprinted directions to all the tour sites which are wonderful. Everything seemed very clean. The security was very good. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend this hotel.
If you want cheap, smelly and hairs all over everything, then this hotel is for you. We had to call the front desk and have our room changed because there were personal hairs on the toilet and sink, mouse droppings or dead bugs (not sure what it was) on the bathroom floor, someone spit in the tub and it was dried there, and the carpets were badly worn and hadn't even been vacuumed! When we switched rooms, we went from a king bed to 2 doubles but were so tired we just dealt with it. But once again, the carpets were filthy and not vacuumed, cigarette ashes everwhere (I originally reserved a non-smoking room), spit on the mirror over the dresser, and once again, personal hairs in the tub and on the wall! And, a ball of hair in the corner of the bathroom! There was black stains above our smoke detector, and hairs on the cheap bed coverings! The towels were a JOKE-Very thin and scratchy. It smelled like an old dump motel when we first got out of the elevator (which was also a joke). There is a sign at the front desk that says you have 15 minutes to examine your room before you cancel it, but they charge you almost $25 anyway! And the front lobby carpet is so badly stained, we knew we were in trouble with this hotel right then. PLEASE PLEASE do not stay at this hotel! The headboards were missing pieces of wood from them, the furniture is so old and decrepate, I was afraid of walking without my socks on because I didn't want to stain my feet, and we were worried that we might leave with bedbugs!
This was our first time at this hotel. The Room was much larger than we had expected and felt like home, rather then just made ready for the next guest. The bed was extremely comfortable and the hotel offered free wireless and good breakfast which was a great asset. The bathroom was very nice On the few occasions that we did have contact with the staff they were extremely friendly, cheerful and thoughtful. I don't think we have ever experienced this level of service before. Upon our arrival, the front desk to the housekeepers went out of their way to accommodate us. The staff by far was been the best I have encountered in all of my travels. Real value inn was well worth the money and we will definitely stay here again.
I had to work in Memphis for 2 days and someone suggested the Real Value Inn because theyre so comfortable and have good breakfast and helpful staff. The good thing about the room was the pleasant smell when you first walk in the door. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. I am really thankful to Front Desk staff they helped me all the time in getting directions to visit different places.
D. Wiliiams, Florida I was there Nov 2-9 for the convention. The rooms were not the best, room service was horrible. The only thing that I liked about the hotel is the night staff. Any problem that we had they did their best to accommodate us. If the husband and wife night team were not there the stay would not have been worth my money
Hotel was old and badly in need of cleaning and replacements. Linens were old and worn. There was litter in the elevator, and the carpet in the room needed vacuumed, cleaned or replaced. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast offering was adequate.
Very clean, professional and efficient staff. The check-in was quick .This motel is great. When compared to other motels. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful.
I wasn't expecting much for the price I paid. When we arrived at Real Value Inn, the check-in was quick and staff was friendly. We were pleased with the location, although it is not in a great area, we never felt unsafe. It was not far from Beale St. which was a plus and not too far from the Zoo either. It is also near the airport if you were flying in. I slept great. The room was quiet, the beds were comfortable and the curtains kept the room dark. The price was great and the renovations look wonderful as well. When I visit Memphis again, this is where I will be staying. We had a great time at RVI. The room was very nice and the amenities exceeded our expectations.
