Excellent service from a Professional Staff. The Hotel Employee was especially helpful. Everybody was pleasant, Room was comfortable,Covenient location
Friendly and very helpful staff, Convenient Location,Comfortable Room, Nice breakfast
Refrigerator Door hinge kept coming loose
room was cheap
while eating the free cont breakfast we saw roaches crawling on the floor.
'Pets allowed' which was key for us. They didn't mention in the listing there was a $15 per night (per pet!!) fee. We negotiate d down to $15 total per night for 2 birds Breakfast was good. The night clerk (not the owner) was good
It really needed better signage to find, which may be a problem of the local bylaws on sign dimensions. From the road, all there is is a 8 inch square sign with an arrow and its hidden behind an office building. Mapquest located it at next exit 6 mi E
The price was right and the continental breakfast was fine.
The rooms could use a complete remodeling. Carpeting was torn and overall condition was poor.
Close to all main highways. centered right between all attractions in the area
The floor could have been swept at least once either before our stay or during the stay
Location to major roads and close to relatives home.
Bed was placed on platform making it to high and hard to get in and out of bed. Complementary breakfast was a joke.
close to restaurants and only about one mile from I 90
bathroom tub was old, had some permanent stains
It was convenient from the highway.
The blankets were stained! If it was cold we would have had to ask for clean blankets and comforters for both beds.
the room was large. spartan, but large.
bathroom poorly lit. shower, tub and enclosure need redone. room poorly lit.
The location was great. The bed was comfortable.
The room did not have a microwave, hairdryer, or fridge. The breakfast area was very small and very sparse. The room could have been cleaner.
The room I stayed in had stains on the walls, carpet was stained, bedsread had stains on it. The shower had mold growing in it. The bathroom floor had stains in the grout. The towels were very old and dingy, were not white or clean looking. The place looks good from the outside, inside of my room was very dirty and it felt very unclean. Complained to the foriegn staff who didn't seem to care. Had there been very few options due to the holiday, I would have stayed elsewhere.
The room they first assigned us had an unpleasant reek to it, but nothing you could pin down until later in the evening when it became evident that the faulty toilet wax seal was leaking sewage onto the bathroom floor. Yuk. Wall behind the commode showed some mold so perhaps this has been ongoing problem for a while. The room safe was not usable. The next day we got a different room. No aroma but again the room safe was not usable. Free paper was nice. Woke up to the sound like that of someone washing bowling balls in a washing machine against the wall at the head of the beds. Manager claims no idea why the noise.
The room was priced right, but the vending machines were down (without notice)and the closest place to walk to get a beverage was on a busy road. No room service either...I ordered a pizza for takeout and that saved the night. Also in the lobby area it smelled like mildew, but the room was clean and smell free!
Air conditioner not working. No apologies for situation, just an offer to move us to another room. We had to ask for clean towels when we arrived back at our room that evening since the room had not been cleaned. It was at that point we discovered that the air wasn't working.
I stayed at the super 8 Motel in Mentor, Ohio on 10/5/08, and got some of the best sleep i have had at any hotel along my trip. The front desk was very friendly, and helped quite a bit with knowledge on local attractions and restaurants, which was very helpful considering i have never been to Mentor, Ohio before. We were directed to a lovely little old fashioned down town area about a mile and a half from the hotel with many little shops, galleries, and restaurants, it was a lovely and beautiful place to spend a Saturday morning. Our room was clean and neat and even came with a refrigerator and microwave, which surprised us, there was also an iron and an ironing board in the room which was very nice. all together it was a very pleasant stay, and i will definitely return if i happen to find myself in Mentor, Ohio again.
I've stayed here a few times and my satisfaction varies considerably. On some occasions the staff is very courteous and attentive, even helping me with dinner suggestions. On this last visit, the receptionist was very terse and unfriendly. She handed me my key and began helping the next customer, which I had to interrupt to ask her to interpret her illegible room number. Even then, she didn't bother to tell me where the room was located or if there was anything else I needed. On some occasions the room is clean and a good value, but not this last visit. There were hairs on the floor, the toilet didn't appear to have been cleaned, and it clogged with the first flush. I consider Super 8's to be the best value hotel chain, and don't usually have these sort of bad experiences. Considering the horrible reviews for the adjacent Comfort Inn, I will undoubtedly give this Super 8 another chance.
