walking down basement to do laundry
The hotel staff was more than accommodating and very friendly. The location was perfectly between the beach, a historic district with lots of great places to eat, and the best street for shopping was only two blocks away. An 8 minute walk to the beach.
There was a strip club across the street and it is three blocks inland from the ocean (no view).
The location of this hotel is great! Right in the heart of south beach (art deco, Lincoln rd. mall, collins ave., the beach, multitude of restaurants/bars/clubs/etc.) The rooftop pool offers breathtaking views of Miami(great place to relax and kickback.
At first glance you think the room is great, until you realize the floors smell like a wet dog/dumpster. When we came in the floor in front of the bathroom was soaked. Moved us to another room and was not wet but still stunk pretty bad. New carpet people!
Staff was friendly and very helpful
Excellent stay for the price. Locations is RIGHT around the corner from ALL the South Bch. shopping on Lincoln. Beach access is wonderful around the block with wonderful chairs, umbrellas & drink service there. Rooftop pool made lounging spectacular with skyline view of the city. Comfortable beds & pillows were great, etc...
it's a hotel. fairly generic considering it's location in the art deco district. nice. cheap enough. rooftop pool is a plus.
The Pros The staff was very friendly. The room was spacious, clean and with a nicely painted accent wall. That was refreshing to the standard white walls. The beds were comfortable. The Internet was free but it was slow. There were ample outlets to plug in laptop, recharge batteries, etc. Although the property was on a busy street, it was relatively quiet. Although the hotel was not on the beach, it is in walking distance. There were many good restaurants around the hotel and we didnt have to walk very far, at all. The Cons There was valet parking only. The elevator was very slow. The room was very basic and there was no microwave or mini-fridge. The bathroom was small and the walls were thin. The view was the roof of the next building. However, there were potted plants to make the view better. Directly across the street, there was an establishment that featured Live Madonnas dancing which made the neighborhood somewhat sketchy.
moderate hotel but not what i expected of 'marriott'the room was entirely too small. however, the location was good-not too far but close enough to the beach. the hotel was clean and room service was always available. staff was very pleasant & helpful. would stay again if i receive the my room choice.requested 2 double beds but received 1 king w/sofa bed. please note, tthe sofa bed is the size of a twin & not too comfortable.
This Marriott Courtyard is a total disappointment. In trendy South Beach, it has the SB prices, but none of the normal amenities that one comes to expect from Marriott at much lower prices. From the heavy smell of insect repellent in the lobby to the stained carpets in the halls, you know something is not quite right before you even get to the room. The rooms are threadbare, small and urgently in need of renovation. The lighting throughout is harsh and industrial, and the bathroom had chipped paint and tub surfaces. Overall, not worthy of the Marriott name.
My wife and I stayed here pre-cruise and absolutely loved it. Within walking distance of everything you could want to see in South Beach. The staff are very helpful and really made our stay great. If you want to save some money and stay close to Ocean Drive, this is the place!
Although it may not seem like it at first glance, this hotel actually is in a great spot. 2 blocks from the beach for daytime activities. 2 blocks to the left is Lincoln Ave and 2 blocks to the right is the Spanish Quarter - both with great shops and restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful with tips on where to eat and activities. We found the hotel to be quiet and relaxing. The rooftop pool is nice, private and unique, but only 3 feet deep. Adult theatre across the street did not bother us but kids may ask questions. Would highly recommend this hotel for a great South Beach experience.
Hotel was very dirty, rooms were smaller than my wife's closet, tv was old and tiny, walls are thinner than paper
