free parking and wifi. close to I-95 and downtown
Room was noisy. Could hear toilet flushing and shower from above unit. housekeeping does not do a very good job and they left my room unlocked all day. Breakfast starts at 8am. Toast and fresh fruit, not bad but only 1 toaster = long waits. no ice machineI had a few issues with the room starting the first day. Toilet ran all night, broken towel bar, and no covers on electrical outlets (difficult to plug anything in with loose outlets, informed staff, was told all would be fixed that day. Was there for 5 days, never fixed.
This hotel is a terrific restoration of a historic hotel. It is also very secure with a fence surrounding it and a secure parking lot.
NoThis is actually a better restoration than the Indian River Inn. Also the neighborhood, Little Havana, appeared safe. I saw people walking on the street on Friday Night.
Price and location was convienent.
TV in room had minimal channels NO basic channels such as ABC NBC CBS etc No hangers provided NO ice machine or ice available Very old and small rooms
Loved the quaint rooms, easy access off I-95, proximity to downtown and South Beach.
There is nothing surrounding the property, tucked away as it is in a downtrodden residential neighborhood. Staff were great, but after hours service is provided by the roving guard, who may or may not speak English. The property itself is fantastic, a collection of 4-5 cottages, each with multiple rooms. The compound is gated, offering limited, but secure parking. I was able to secure a room for xxx dollars per night, and later extended at the same price thru the weekend. I plan on making this my default accommodation on future visits to Miami, so impressed I was. It's not 5-star, but extremely comfortable and great value for the money.
Price and Close Location to downtown.
Front desk is run by Security Person, and she's not to knowledgeable about room locations.Warning, the hotel is a bit creepy. Its old style homes and the interior is just as spooky. GF was scared, I was somewhat. The bed left me sore in the morning, and did not like that I could see mattress through the white sheets. TV channel selection was mediocre. Rooms actually have keys and not a key card. Also, if you show up early enough you get a car gate remote for their parking. Would probably not stay again, would look for a more modern hotel.
THE POOL!!! So wonderfully surrounded by green palms and other lushness! Bedroom was also quite pleasant, but it's pure bed and breakfast charm. Please do not go expecting a hotel room.
Location is interesting. It's next to overpass of major thoroughfare crossing the River. It's super close to downtown Miami, but the immediate area next to it is not the prettiest or coziest. Felt safe walking at all times, except night. Took taxis then. This is a very quaint, very Miami bed and breakfast. Hostess was great, talkative but non-intrusive. I'm not sure if there were any other guests while I was there, since I was there for a conference and was barely on site. I used and thoroughly enjoyed the pool. The public areas and outdoor courtyards are absolutely endearing, if you're into the Miami lush setting. Public areas have free WiFi and I was also able to access it in my bedroom. This is good since there are no televisions in the bedrooms. There are al...
Not very much!
Hard to find, entrance not visible, parking difficult, looked unkept, rooms had bugs, old and over used furnishings, breakfast area not easy to get to, had to go outside to find, was not told where breakfast was served. It looked forlorn and needed TLC. It seemed as if there was not a lot of time or effort put into making it look inviting and cats were wandering around outside all over! The rooms were not very clean and we found bugs in the sink and on the floor. Not a lot of help when we arrived or left and we did not want to eat breakfast there-dirty dishes in the sink and unsanitary as well. We would not recommend this to anyone we know. It needs someone to put a little elbow grease into tidying the outside grounds as well as the inside. It could use updating on some of the decorating and furniture.
Staff were extremely accommodating and nice.
No TV or temp control in the room. Somewhat sketchy location.
