This is the worst La Quinta that my family and I have ever had the displeasure of staying at. The entire building inside looks run down and worn out. The rooms are of average size but in disrepair. The caulking around the shower was mildew covered or missing entirely. The entire hotel smelled horrible due to carpets that look like they are 10 yrs. past the end of their life. There is no elevator in the building. The staff smoke cigarettes in front of the main entrance so closely that the automatic doors stay open and the smoke drifts inside, thus completely negating the definition of a non-smoking building. The wall outlets in the rooms are minimal and either inoperable or hidden by furniture. The linen has holes. There is no sound proofing and the hall door allows half an inch of light in all around it. The lock had screws that were about to fall out and I did not trust the security of the door itself. The carpet in the room left socks and feet black which is incredibly gross. DO NOT STAY HERE. La Quinta I would recommend you evaluate this hotel and consider changes. I would not put my name on this dump.
The best you can say is it is cheap. Bed linen shredded. Mold in bath tub. Few electrical plugins. Lousy location.
The only downfall to this hotel is that there are no elevators and one of the side doors did not work. Otherwise, it was great! Super easy access to downtown Salt Lake.
All of the La Quinta Inns are pet friendly, which I did not know until I arrived. The managers were very nice, but the carpets were very soiled. There were other patrons smoking illegally by the pool area, which I later found out that I was supposed to report. I was not the only unhappy patron, because two women started calling each other names at breakfast because one of them brought her dog down with her. My daughter is allergic to pet dander, so we only stayed one night, which was a bit too long for her, and me too. The location is right off the interstate so it is very convenient for travelers and for truckers too. I would not recommend this hotel.
Flew into SLC late, wanted a place to sleep before heading out in the morning, this was fine. Clean, quiet and comfortable
I was a little surprised. I have stayed here twice before and in the same room actually. This time was off really bad. The room was so muggy that you could hardly breathe. It smelled musty. We ran the vent but there was no air circulation. We couldn't sleep at all it was so disappointing we left early and didn't even bother with breakfast. I have told others this is a nice place to stay and recommended it many times. I wont do this in the future and will tell friends to be very cautions. And some stupid person decided to vacuum halls at 2 in the morning duh!
I am so glad i found thid place it is close to my family and my dogs could stay with us. Very pleased.
My only comment was that the hot tub was a little too hot. Couldn't stay in long before needing to cool down.
It was cheap for the price but I expected more out it. They did have a decent breakfast. The rooms were very noisy and you could hear all the traffic form the hall and the showers running made all kind of noise in the middle of the night.
Better breakfast would be better. Other than that it was great!
The staff was fantastic. There was a great selection for Breakfast. Great people.
Convenient location. The room was clean but the hallways, not so much. Continental breakfast included fresh waffles.
The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly with fast service. We book two room with two bed each. We thought they would be both queens but turn turns out to be full beds. The free break fast needs some bacon or sausages and scramble eggs. For the price this place is a good value. We would book here again.
Only gripe hot tub was out of order - location wasn't the greatest but convenient to main highway.
All was pretty good. Hot tub had a little to much chlorine and towels were needed, but at least you knew any grems were dead and you could take a towel from the room. Breakfast was just the basics.
This hotel was your average mid range hotel. Nicer than most economy hotels, good breakfast offered.
the first not I stayed at the hotel there was a problem with the heat.Other than that there were no problems. They should consider adding more variety to the breakfast. (e.g. potatoes)
I would stay there again. I was traveling for business and on a tight budget and it was perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful the rooms were clean, all of the basics were covered well.
If coming to the hotel from the left, one had to turn left half a block before the hotel, then drive through a gas station and a donut shop to get to the hotel. If arriving from the right of the hotel, one was able to turn right in to the hotel parking lot. This problem was because of a freeway on-ramp close to the hotel, but difficult to navigate if unfamiliar with the city.
We needed a place to stay on a long road trip and found this on our way. Not the best, certainly not the worst. Clean enough, had beds... that was all we were looking for, nice pool though. Middle of the road and sometimes that's all you want.
Truly awful. Toilet didn't flush. Carpets dirty and worn. No el to second floor. Worse than a Motel six. Mattress soft, stained. Disgusting!
The entire hotel smells mildew-ey which is odd for a hotel in the desert with the pool in a building detached from the hotel. I've stayed in this hotel several times (I go there regularly on business and work for a cheap employer) and about half the time I get a room with an obvious maintenance issue (Tiles missing in bathroom, non-functional toliet, non-functional AC, all but one lightbulb needing replacing, etc). In the case of the non-functional toliet and AC I complained and got a different room (The other ones, I just ignored, not worth the effort to complain). The point is out of 10 stays there, only once have I gotten a room that had no obvious issues. All points to maintence not really being a priority for this hotel. Cleanliness in room is adequate but not great. The tell tale signs being an accumulation of dust in the corners, on top of doors, on top of television, etc, I found a couple of hairs on a pillow there once which can happen accidentally or can happen if a bed is just made instead of changed between guests, no way of knowing for sure. Lobby is nice and breakfast is good by lower end hotel chain standards. Hallways and stairs in this hotel are another matter. The hallways have -a lot- of stains and general nastiness. Wireless internet is consistently slower than dialup (as it tends to be at most hotels). Front desk staff is always courteous, friendly and professional. Neighborhood it is in is good with a number of restaurants within walking distance. (From McDonald's to Diners, nearest place I'd take someone for a business meeting is about 2 miles away)
This hotel was good for access to the Cottonwood Canyon ski areas. Many good places to eat, 3 ski rental shops and a large Gro. store. In addition I-80, I-215 and I-15 are easy to access if your going to Ogden, Park City or the Airport. The hotel is aged, with worn funiture, old TV's, and VERY thin walls (Conversations taking place in the hallway were like being there with the people). The Staff was always very nice and provided good service when requested. The room was clean. The Continental breakfast was typical--provide the Coffee, Juice and Carbs to start the day of skiing. Both Ice machines on the 2nd floor were out of order. Would I stay here again--Maybe, it was perfect for this trip and the price didn't break the bank. Let's say it served it's purpose--a place to sleep and use as a base to go to 4 different ski resorts.
I had a 5-night stay. This hotel looks like an older style La Quinta. The room was okay, but nothing special. No comfortable chair for watching TV; had to sit on the bed or sit in a straightback desk chair. The stairwell area to the second floor and laundry/vending area was never spotless; always appeared somewhat dirty. The carpet in the stairwell was worn and dirty looking. The exterior door to the parking lot was never locked, despite a sign stating that a room key was needed to enter. Although this hotel has an interior hallway, like most La Quintas there is no ''entry hall'' inside each room; the doors from the central hallway open directly into the room. Consequently, the hallway light shines through the cracks in the door at night and every sound from the hallway could be heard. It was particularly disturbing the last night when some high school kids were talking in the hallway at 4:15 a.m. and constantly going in and out of the adjacent room. Additionally, the shower noise in the adjacent room was loud enough to wake me up in the morning. The front desk folks were friendly and helpful with directions. They were also prompt in responding to an issue with the iron. I used this hotel only to sleep in at night. I was gone every day until about 8:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m. If a traveler needs a hotel room to spend more time in, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. For a one-night's stay, this hotel is okay if there aren't many guests using the hallway.
Older property next to the freeway, a McDonald's and a Denny's. Friendly helpful front desk staff and big free breakfast but a two sar hotel at best.
Althouth the room was not too bad , the halls, stairs, lobby etc were dirty and worn out. '
The hotel smelled and we could see mold all over. There was a gap so big in the door that you could see people walking by in the hall. The only thing that was half way good was the continental breakfast included with the stay
