Excellent Parador, outstanding location.
The location in an old monastery was excellent
We decided to eat in the restaurant of the hotel and did not much like the hurriedness and lack of enthusiasm of the serving staff. The dinner experience was not what it should have been.
The site is impressive and bedrooms of the usual high standard, but allowing for it's Grade 2 status we found this Parador a little gloomy, with the cloisters fully enclosed with glazing. It would have been nice if seating & refreshments were available outside in the summer. Well situated for touring the area.
On arrival our reservation could not be found. Not a good start when arriving at 2100 hours. Thankfully they had space and we had taken our full booking.com reference with us. The adjoining chapel was undergoing repairs and the ground beyond the swimming pool area were unkempt.
Lovely hotel, friendly staff, not much to do in the area/town.
No outside eating/drinking areas.
Whilst the hotel was lovely and its position particularly impressive we were disappointed as we were not able to use the main facility attraction - the pool - as it was raining!
The dinner was very disappointing.
Wonderful hilltop location, excellent food; rooms comfortable (we were in the modern extension near the swimming pool). We didn't use the pool but enjoyed the grounds
The receptionist seemed a little harassed; the garden beyond the swimming pool was overgrown and neglected (but still had much charm)
Location was fantastic....services were excellent, and the feel of history was also great.
Not really...thoroughly emjoyed our stay.
