This place should be listed as a B&B. The breakfast is the best thing this place has to offer. The bed was comfortable too. And that's about all there is to this place. We were disappointed the moment we drove up on the place. The neighborhood is questionable and there is very limited on-site parking. We parked in the adjoining neighborhood. It's a hundred year old building. Some people will like that funkiness. The rooms are sparse and tiny. A single chair for the two of us and room for only one to pass around the bed. Hotels.com lists a fireplace and hot tub but that's deceitful. The fireplace is an electric heater with faux flames and the hot tub is the room's bathtub. The owner put too much money into the bathroom with marble floor to ceiling, a shallow jetted tub and add-on bidet on the toilet. The room does not have a fridge, microwave or coffee. You have to go downstairs to the dining room to get coffee and it's served in pretentious, small tea cups. We had leftover thanksgiving dinner out but could not bring it back to the room as there is no microwave available. The desk clerk said the owner "does not believe in microwaves". This owner put a lot of money into a hotel so he could feature a fine-dining breakfast and it was a good breakfast. That breakfast doesn't make up for all this place is lacking. He should have been a restraunteur and not a hotelier. This place should have been a B&B as it has none of the features of a hotel and all the charm of a boarding house.

Pros:Breakfast was amazing. the staff was very nice and accommodating. the bathroom had a bidet and a Jacuzzi tub which I indulged in. They had a 'happy hour' where you could have snacks and a drink which was all complimentary.
Cons:The heater and the TV didn't seem to want to work together. It shorted the main room twice so I had to notify the front desk. The bed had a hair in it that wasn't mine. The location is right on the main road, but the noise didn't bother me too much.

Pros:Very clean and loved the Jacuzzi tub and heated floors, the beds were super comfortable and I loved the in wall fireplace. The bathroom was very nice and the staff was more than kind. The Complementary breakfast was amazing. It was even better than the breakfast we've paid for
Cons:Though I loved how close we were to Cannery Row and how easily accessible it was to everything, the cars driving by in the morning was a little loud. Also, the rooftop restaurant was a little loud at times when we were in our room because we were right underneath but not enough to make me not want to stay there again.

Pros:The hotel is an extraordinarily charming and unique boutique hotel. While the rooms are not large, they are well appointed. The rooftop bar/restaurant offers expansive views of the Monterey Bay and is a must see. The gracious proprietor, Naz, makes you feel at home (her home).

Pros:The location was nice. Everything was very clean.
Cons:There was no clearly marked parking. The room was super noisy, especially as they entertained guests at the rooftop bar, and as they cleaned up the bar after the end of the night. And as they started to serve breakfast. The room was old and rather amateurish, with mismatched paint, dented walls, a partially-functioning TV, and a jacked-up door handle. Also, the bed was super uncomfortable. It was like sleeping in a bounce house. For the price, I expected a much nicer facility.

Pros:The room was small but very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was big enough. Had dinner on the rooftop. Great view of the ocean. Great complementary breakfast. It was delicious. Staff very nice and helpful. Would stay again for sure. Very close to Fishermen's Wharf.
Cons:The only problem with the room was no window. There was a door to the outside but didn't feel good about leaving the door open all night. Got a little stuffy during the night. No AC. Very limited parking.
