The 10 best hotels in Naples

Discover the top hotels in Naples handpicked by local expert Terry Ward.

Naples, Florida is home to some of the most beautiful white-sand beaches in the world, where dolphins make frequent appearances and the calm waters of the Gulf of Mexico are perfect for a swim. What I really love about this Florida beach town, however, is that there’s as much to do on the water and sand here as there is to do inland. Everglades National Park is within easy reach for a day trip and the enticing European vibe of Fifth Avenue’s shopping and dining waits just a few blocks off Naples Beach. You can do something as mellow as bask on the beachfront of the Gulf of Mexico or head out in search of bigger thrills in the form of a fan boat ride through the Everglades, where you might spot lurking alligators. In Naples, Florida, you can find amazing resorts, beachfront elegant establishments, some of your favorite hotel brands, or even chic boutique hotels. Read on to narrow your search and find the best hotels in Naples for your needs.

1.

JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort

Address:

400 South Collier Boulevard

Price:

$493-2971/night

If you’re looking for an all-encompassing resort experience at a Naples hotel with your family, with plenty to do onsite, around town and down on the beach, too, consider the JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort.
I’ve stayed here a few times with my young kids, and there’s never a minute to be bored, between the property’s four swimming pools (including an adults-only one and the family-friendly tiki pool), chickee huts for lounging in the shade on the wide beach, onsite bowling alley and 12 restaurants.
Come sunset, I always grab a table set just back from the sand at the hotel’s best beachfront bar, Kane Tiki Bar & Grill, a must visit for sure while you are there. A fruity rum drink works magic for toasting the sun as it sinks into the Gulf of Mexico.

2.

LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort - A Noble House Resort

Address:

9891 Gulf Shore Drive

Price:

$317-1307/night

Casual beachfront sophistication on Vanderbilt Beach (one of Naples’ prettiest) is the name of the game when you plan a vacation at LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort – a Noble House Resort. Pick your favorite hangout in the form of four pools with Gulf of Mexico views or the beach itself, where you can relax in the shade of a private cabana with a Beach Butler at the ready to deliver drinks and snacks.
My favorite spot at this property during a recent stay ended up being the balcony of my suite, where I’d relax with my morning coffee while watching dolphins slice the glassy waters below.
The hotel is known among bon vivants for its excellent spa as well as its stellar seafood restaurant, BALEEN, one of the best in Naples, a serious foodie town, for freshly caught fish served at tables lit by tiki lamps overlooking the sand.

3.

Edgewater Beach Hotel

Address:

1901 Gulf Shore Boulevard North

Price:

$397-2616/night

Part of Opal Collection, one of my favorite brands for unique hotels in Naples as well, Edgewater Beach Hotel is always my pick when I’m traveling with a group of friends with kids in tow thanks to the suites with full kitchens that make it easy to settle in and feel at home (with the bonus of gorgeous Gulf of Mexico views).
The property has a residential feel I appreciate, paired with great resort amenities like a two-lane lap pool and beachfront hot tub, beach beds and cabanas down on the sand (as well as kayaks and paddleboards you can rent to get out on the water).
The hotel’s open-air restaurant, Coast, with tables on a verandah overlooking the pool and beach, is perfect for a romantic dinner or group gathering. A full resort experience for the whole family, where kids and adults alike will have the time of their lives.

4.

Inn On Fifth

Address:

699 5th Avenue South

Price:

$287-1111/night

Something I really love about vacationing in Naples is that it offers as much to do off the beach as on it. Come evening time here, you’ll get European vibes strolling the upscale boutiques, bars, and cafes along Fifth Avenue, where you’ll find one of the best boutique hotels in Naples, The Inn on Fifth.
With 119 rooms and 32 club level suites, its amenities include a gorgeous rooftop pool and a dreamy spa complete with saunas, steam rooms and an outdoor relaxation area. Don’t miss one of my favorite Naples seafood restaurants at the hotel – Truluck’s, where you can try Florida specialties like stone crab claws and blackened grouper.
The inn’s concierge can help you get out and about on the water and around town enjoying things like yacht charters, fishing, golf and even family visits to Naples Zoo.

5.

The Capri Inn

Address:

955 7th Avenue South

Price:

$119-2267/night

Another of my go-to and one of the best hotels in Naples within the Opal Collection, The Capri Inn makes up for its off-the-beach setting (just a five-minute stroll from Fifth Avenue’s shopping and nightlife) with perks like a gorgeous tropical pool, relaxed residential setting and guest rooms with marble bathrooms that have both walk-in showers and soaking tubs.
There’s even a super-romantic cottage with a fireplace in a separate living room you can stay in here. It feels like a little bit of Key West in Naples.
And a delicious daily continental breakfast (danishes, bagels, coffee and the like) as well as complimentary bikes are even included in the resort fee, adding to the inn’s unique appeal. This is the ideal solution if you want to enjoy a romantic getaway with your significant other, or just enjoy your Naples visit.

6.

Hotel Escalante

Address:

290 5th Ave. South

Price:

$584-1653/night

One of the most exclusive boutique hotels in Naples, Hotel Escalante might remind you of a Mediterranean villa when you first step into its discreet and lush surroundings, tucked away just off Fifth Avenue, Naples’ favorite shopping and dining street.
Courtyard fountains gurgle, birds coo and tropical flowers spill from every nook surrounding the 11 guest bungalows where you can check in for a quiet and restorative Naples stay.
Welcome the day with a coffee on your private patio, enjoy a meal at Veranda E, the hotel’s signature restaurant, where much of the produce comes from the organic onsite garden, and join the hotel’s evening social hour – one of Naples’ toniest happy hours, where you can snack on fish tacos and truffle fries while clinking glasses of rosé.

7.

Cove Inn on Naples Bay

Address:

900 Broad Avenue South

Price:

$204-453/night

Hidden away on Naples Bay about a mile from the beach, the Cove Inn on Naples Bay always feels like a piece of Old Florida to me thanks to its laid-back vibes, marina views with bobbing boats and families playing in the waterfront pool.
The 89 rooms are all individually designed and decorated, making Cove Inn a unique hotel in Naples, so you can pick the one when booking that most suits your style. You will feel like home when you want to as they feature a fully equipped kitchenette.
And when you need to relax, enjoy your drink on the in-house bar terrace. The resort fee includes complimentary use of the hotel’s bikes and it’s just a five-minute ride to Fifth Avenue or the beach when you’re ready to get off property to explore.

8.

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Naples

Address:

3798 White Lake Boulevard

Price:

$112-395/night

Thanks to their roomy accommodations, free parking and super comfortable beds and bedding, I’m a big fan of this family-friendly Marriott chain, wherever I find it. And SpringHill Suites by Marriott Naples, right near the Golden Gate community east of Downtown Naples, is an excellent choice as long as you don’t mind being about a 15-minute drive from the beach and Fifth Avenue.
Something I particularly enjoy is the fact that the hotel’s roomy suites have separate living areas as well as mini fridges and microwaves to make family travel all the easier and more comfortable.
You can start your day at the complimentary breakfast buffet and cool off in the outdoor swimming pool after a day out and about exploring Naples.

9.

Home2 Suites by Hilton Naples I-75 Pine Ridge Road

Address:

3685 Kramer Drive

Price:

$124-406/night

The name is a mouthful, no doubt. But as long as you don’t mind driving about 15 minutes to reach Naples’ gorgeous beaches and all the restaurants and shopping along the city’s famed Fifth Avenue, there’s a lot you’ll appreciate about settling in for a stay at Home2 Suites by Hilton Naples I-75 Pine Ridge Road.
With amenities like a free hot breakfast, outdoor pool, free onsite parking and an outdoor firepit to relax around in the evening, the property ticks a lot of boxes for multi-generational traveling families (including mine) as well as business travelers.
Think: rooms with accessible showers and tubs, kitchenettes with induction burners and ultra-comfortable microfiber linens topping the beds for a cozy night’s sleep.

10.

Naples Grande Beach Resort

Address:

475 Seagate Drive

Price:

$261-1073/night

Surrounded by mangroves near one of Naples’ most spectacular beaches at Clam Pass Park, the Naples Grande Beach Resort makes setting out for a beach day super fun. A quick and complimentary golf tram whizzes you across a boardwalk from the hotel and through mangrove tunnels to the beach, where umbrellas and lounge chairs as well as kayaks and paddleboards await.
Back at one of the best hotels in Naples, my kids are always just as happy to frolic around the three pools. Including one where waterfalls pound down and another with a beach entry and a thrilling water slide. Rooms are spacious, with balconies overlooking the mangroves and beach where you’ll want to sip a coffee or something frosty.
The hotel’s indoor-outdoor spa village has transporting Japanese flair I adore, with beautiful pavilions for relaxing after a treatment in addition to sauna and steam rooms.
