Very clean, staff was super nice and accommodating and it was very quiet! I highly recommend The Gild and we will definitely return. This is our new "go to" hotel!
Elevators are slow but it certainly didn't affect our stay.
Overall great experience- modern, great staff, excellent restaurant. Would stay again!
Booked through Kayak and by some stroke of luck, received a free upgrade to the Thompson Suite upon arrival. If you can, book this room - it is absolutely amazing and without a doubt the most spacious hotel room I've ever seen in New York (or any other major metro area really). The staff was exceptionally helpful and accommodating and the property itself is both charming and luxurious. HIGHLY recommend - I've stayed at both the Thompson Smyth Tribeca and the SIXTY LES (when it was under Thompson management) and this was by leaps and bounds the best.
Not necessarily a downside, but be aware that the hotel is ALL the way downtown - this was perfect for my needs, but could be inconvenient if you're not familiar with NYC when booking. Additionally, the elevators were finicky and slow, although the concierge was very helpful in remedying the issue. So all in all, no substantive complaints to speak of!
I travel quite a bit and have been in many hotels. This one is by far the best I have I stayed at. The service of the front desk as well as the willingness of everyone on staff to make your stay the best is what really stands out. It is located in a great spot and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again the next time I'm in NYC.
Very friendly and accomodating staff. Received a complimentary glass of wine immediately upon my arrival. Nice after 10 hrs on the road. Very good vibe. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, good location.
The hotel was a bit hard to find despite having a GPS. Not really, the hotels fault, I guess. The bathroom wall was made of a transluscent mosaic panel, which did not offer much privacy. Ended up doing our business with the bathroom lights off most of the time. While this may not be an issue for some, with 4 adults in the room it was definitely a bit awkward at times.
Smoke alarm going off during the night because of low battery.
Rooms are small but cute. Good for the price and if looking for something nice but not super luxurious.
no room service for two days. Each time we called concierge, noone picked up the phone.
Great room, comfy, upscale. Original decoration. Good location, in the financial district, close to subway. Very good value for money in NYC.
The facilities were amazing.
There was a lot of noise on our floor at night.
It was close to Pace University and the decor was good.
The rooms are very modern, beautiful and trendy and the hotel staff is excellent! The financial district is very quiet at night, so you'll be able to a good night's sleep. Three subway lines stop really near to the hotel.
If you like to sleep in the middle of the 'buzz' of New York and would like to walk 'home' from, say, Times Square, you would be better of somewhere else. I would definitely consider staying in this hotel again, though.
Hotel Staff's great attitude and manners. At the Lobby, housekeeping etc.
Nothing in particular. A minor problem with A/C the last night. They reacted inmediately. No issue in my opinion.
Everything - the staff were especially friendly and helpful. This is a very attractive and hip boutique hotel right in the middle of the financial district. This is a real find
The Staff has been really great and the free Wifi is a real plus
the staff and hospitality.
the location. It's not easy to find.
