I didn't get to stay there because I was booked in for the night before I wanted to stay and I wasn't allowed cancel it. Your service is awful and I would like my money back. I arrived in NYC last night to no Accomodation.

Location was perfect for the business I had to do there.
The floor and room I stayed in had not been updated in a very long time. Hotel was old and not clean. The house clean did a terrible job every day.
Bed and rooms were extremely small for the price

AC didn't work for 3 night stay. They wouldn't change my room. Staff didn't really listen and wasn't interested in really solving the problem. I ended up getting sick because I slept three nights in a room where the AC kept breaking down. Wouldn't even give me a credit for the problem upon checkout. Horrible experience.
The lobby was clean and inviting and the location was excellent.
When I arrived, my room was not ready. After two hours of waiting I was told that the people who were previously in my room had paid extra for a late check-out and were still there. They did not care that I paid to check in at a certain time, but was not able to get to my room. After three hours, I was given a different room. The room was small which I expected since I have traveled to New York many times, but it was entirely too small for three people. It may be fine for a couple with 1 bed. The décor of the room was good, but the room was not up to my standards for cleanliness. The drapes had stains on them, the air vents had mold on them and the shower floor was dirty. On our third day, I started smelling a sewage smell after a shower. It got worse over the next two hours, so I called house keeping. They came and said I needed to be moved. The new room had clean drapes, but the rest was the same except the view was downgraded. Another thing to note was the elevators were broken. The day we arrived, all the elevators were broken and everyone had to take stairs with luggage. The rest of the days ranged 1-2 elevators worked. The roof deck is nice, but beware if you plan to use it at night, you will probably not be able to access the roof deck. All 5 nights we were there, it closed around 8:00-9:00 for a "private party". We later learned from other frustrated guests that they closed it for the club that is in the hotel. It is possible that I was there on an "off" week because every guest I came in touch with was complaining. I am in the hospitality industry and understand things happen and establishments have "off" weeks, but the one thing I can't tolerate is poor management and rude staff. Not one person I came in contact with was accommodating or even apologetic. I believe the hotel has great promise, but the management needs to be changed.

Very modern hotel, excellent location.
Cleanliness in the bathroomnew technologies and excellent staff, very friendly
The bed and the view! very modern and classy. Love the entrance area. Coolest hotel I've ever stayed in.
Easy to hear what was happening in the hallway, noisy. Staff thought they lost my luggage and the room phone didn't work, staff didn't know how to help us. Self check in on the computers was slow and frustrating: just hire someone for the front desk.

The location was great, service was top notch, and hotel itself was filled will elegance. I loved that it felt like I'd stepped back in time to a grandeur that's frequently lacking in modern times.
NoI would highly recommend this to anyone. We did stay in a 1 bedroom sweet, it was filled with charm and elegance. Also, the breakfast is not to be missed!
Very large rooms, great shops, great restaurants, great room service.
Bathroom fixtures were worn out or malfunctioning. Not what I'd expect of a 5 star hotel.

Rooms were clean, beds very comfortable, maid service timely, toiletries excellent, service excellent, fitness room spacious, and outstanding location - one block from Times Square, next door to subway stop to SoHo and 2 block from subway going uptown, near great restaurants a block away, and a block or two from most of the major theaters . We have now stayed here three times in the past 4 years - not willing to risk staying somewhere else
Nothing not to like, except it can be pricey depending on the day of the week you stay ($300-$400/night), but it is worth it.

Of four elevators, only one works Cold water faucet was leaking, needs to turn the water on/off by turning the valve
Location is the best thing you can say about this hotel. if you want to visit the tourist areas of NY then this puts you close to everything - hop on subway which is just half a block from hotel or take a stroll to central park, just 3 blocks away. Lots of interesting places to eat near hotel.
Firstly this hotel is owned and operated by an independant company and operates under Days Inn (so if you expect a certain quality of Days Inn you will be disappointed). The carpets stink and are dirty - try walking in stocking feet and see how dirty socks get! The smell is masked by some sort of coverup smelling product. Stayed for 9 days and sign said elevators out of order one side of building which left just two elevators for guests and housekeeping. We were on 10th floor and used stairs majority of time but had to use elevator for check out (took nearly 20 minutes to get elevator that was not full of others also trying to check out - so timing is everything). The picture of gym on web page a joke - have 2 pieces of equipment in a very mirrored room - and only one piece worked! If you are an early riser expect to see homeless people resting in sofas at reception area. It seems desk staff are used of people complaining about elevators and carpets as they just shrugged when anything was said to them, suggests to me they know owners don't care one bit! Housekeeping staff very friendly and attentive . Did wake up one morning to a cockroach crawling up the wall nice! With a little bit of cash put in by owners this hotel could easily be value for money. If not for location would not of stayed.

Good hotel to stay at, near restaurant,Rockefeller center, grand central station and Times Square.
We only stayed one night, so the room was fine for the cost. But it was very small, so for any longer I would have felt kinda cramped! Also we were disappointed it didn't have a fridge. But it was clean, staff was friendly, and it's in a decent location for seeing the city.

The decor was cute.
When we went to check-in, the person at the desk couldn't find our reservation (which we placed through Kayak). So he had me show him my confirmation email via my phone. Okay, sure, that's fine. But then he made me email the confirmation to his personal email because he said their accountant would need it.... It was bizarre. I checked that confirmation email up and down later on to make sure there was nothing he could use to steal my identity or commit credit card fraud. Anyway, forwarding my confirmation email to the clerk's personal email just seems very messy and unprofessional. He also charged an additional $25 to my card "in case of extra charges". When I checked out, I did not receive any notice about extra charges. A week later, I still do not have this extra charge back. The wallpaper in the room was peeling. The bed was definitely not the typical comfy hotel mattress I'm used to... it was very firm and the pillows had rough and cheap feeling cases. The bathroom set up is weird. The shower, toilet, and sinks are all exposed to the room. There is a sliding mirror that can either cover the toilet or the shower... not both at the same time. If you like privacy when you use the toilet, this may not be the place for you.
