The location was very good.
The service in the bar/lounge area was awful. Bell staff on the other hand were outstanding. Could not be more helpful! The hotel location was very good with ample parking and staff upon arrival. The room was nice but the hot water at the vanity took forever to come and the spout was too low over the bowl. The pulls on the window were so tangled we could not adjust the blinds. We had to detangle the strings which took about 10 minutes. Also, check-out time should be at 12:00, 11:00 is too soon. Not deserving of 4 stars.
The hotel staff are very attentive and its proximity to downtown Newport is very convenient.
Our room was located above the bar. Loud, live music until after 11 p.m., followed by recorded music until past midnight with a later party in a nearby room. We didn't fall asleep till well past 2 a.m. Room 208 shouldn't be occupied on Saturday night. The hotel offers plenty of character, is well-located in Newport and the staff is quite competent. The hotel made the wrong decision to have us occupy Room 208 on a Saturday night, knowing that live music would be playing directly beneath us until past 11 p.m. followed by recorded music well past midnight followed by a loud party in a nearby room well into the early morning hours. Given the size of the hotel, and the likelihood that there were room vacancies, guests should be afforded the opportunity to occupy a room that is not subject to the noisy bar and music on a Saturday night. The staff did its best to ...
rooms very strange small bathroom no fan and heating system was noisyI'm sure you will ignore this survey as you use the Viking as a trap to get Hyatt and Marriot customers by saying its an upgrade from 3 and half stars for Hyatt. Well you got me for 1 night but I'll never use you again so let me know if your trick is worth it
room was smallHotel was good but room was too small
Attentiveness and friendliness of the staff.
Hotel has a strange layout. The rooms are on the small size with a strange layout. It's a nice hotel but I don't believe it deserves a 4-star rating.
The location and character of the hotel were great.
The additional fee for parking was pricey.
Extremely small room and bathroom. Could barely turnaround. Peeling ceilings and even had a painter walk into our room on us at 8am unannounced.Awful. Overpriced for a 4 star hotel. Would not have recommended staying here had I know this was the end product. Waste of money.
Great Location - easy walk to the waterfront and great restaurants
bathroom was a little cramped but very nicely appointed
Staff were friendly and welcoming- room was small - sheets dirty and had to pay an extra $33 FOR PARKING which I thought was free and a reason why I opted for a more expensive hotel
It is simply ok - I would not consider it a 4 starThe staff were really pleasant when we arrived - very welcoming but the room was small and the sheets were dirty like they had not been changed. There was no bath tug which was a big disappointment as I had a back/neck problem and wanted to lay in the bath after driving a couple of hours. The bed was comfortable and at night the view of the sky was beautiful at sunset but when we awoke the outside view was awful - just a roof top view. I was hoping for it to be a true 4 star with all the bells and whistles but I think as we pay what we want - choose a price - I think they give you the worst room which is disappointing for me and my 24year old daughter - just the two of us.
Location was great. Room was extremely small with a tiny bath. But all new and upgraded. Fine for a day or two for two people. Anymore than that you would want to upgrade.
Having to valet parkGreat place for a few days
