If you enjoy aquatic activities then the Newport Beach Balboa Peninsula is the place for you, with our six miles of picturesque sandy coastline and one of the greatest small yacht harbors in the world. For starters, you can rent a bicycle or a pair of skates and cruise the boardwalk. You can also take a sport fishing excursion for a day on the high seas or fish off the Balboa or Newport Piers. This area holds the majority of main attractions on the Peninsula. The Newport and Balboa Piers are surrounded by a multitude of shops and restaurants, from fine dining to family dining, and everything in between. There are public basketball and tennis courts as well as a large public park and athletic field at the Balboa pier and a large number of sand volleyball courts are located between the piers. The Balboa Pier is also home to the only beach fire pits on the Peninsula. There is even a Ferris wheel, carousel and video arcade in the Balboa Fun Zone. You can jet ski, para-sail, rent a boat, surf, or catch a weekend over on Catalina Island. Across from the Balboa Pier is the historical Balboa Pavillion and the gangway to the Catalina Flyer, Newport has a catamaran service to famous Catalina Island where you can visit for a day or more of adventure across the channel. If you want to explore the Newport Bay, there are several areas to launch hand-carried water craft or you can rent a kayak, paddle boat or even an electric Duffy. Lastly, you can catch our local Balboa ferry and walk around Balboa Island, home to more than 70 gift shops, galleries and restaurants. If you are a shopper at heart, Fashion Island and South Coast Plaza are two of arguably the best malls in the United States. A housekeeping charge of USD 195.00 is due with every booking as well as a 500.00 USD refundable security deposit. The normal 3 percent booking charge is currently being waived.
