Archer House

The Archer House is a charming 1877 French Second Empire Inn located along the picturesque Cannon River. A 21 month renovation of public spaces, guest rooms and suites was completed in April 2011. Situated at the center of Historic downtown Northfield, the Inn is surrounded by restaurants and pubs as well as bookstores, antique shops, clothing and accessories stores, gift shops and galleries. The Inn is 3 blocks from the heart of the Carleton College campus and 1.2 miles from the St. Olaf College Campus. Directly behind the Archer House River Inn is the Cannon River with a beautiful river walk featuring the Riverwalk Market Fair every Saturday morning June 4 through October 15, 2011. The Inn features 36 guest rooms and suites. The Archer House has two full service restaurants, the Tavern Restaurant and Chapati Cuisine of India, the Tavern Lounge with River Deck, Bittersweet Coffee Shop, A Bag Lady and Paper Petalum gift shops. The Archer House River Inn offers free high speed wireless Internet throughout the building and a guest exercise room. The Inn is 100 percent non-smoking. The Archer House has staff on duty to assist you 24 a day and is open 365 days a year. Banquet and meeting space is available in the Riverside Room for groups from 15 to 100 guests.
