I took my 11yrs old son to Mexico and we had a great time @ the Riu Palace PV. The service was great. The food was very very good. It's a mellow place so don't expect a party atmosphere

The resort was gorgeous! A few drawbacks..alot of kids, i mean alot ( we were looking for time away from kids) The wifi was not working, more than it was (which in the long run was ok, because we were on a getaway) All the restuarants on site required to make reservations 3 or 4 days out, and men had to were slacks (all food was pretty descent)

We had the most amazing time! The hotel is located in a perfect spot. The beach is so beautiful and nicely covered by palms if you are looking for some shade like me :) The pool is kept up very well so it is super clean. If you are in to activities you will be pleasantly surprised with the entertainment here. As far as the restaurants, choose where you want to eat for dinner as soon as you get there and make reservations so you get to try all the great food. Breakfast and lunch are done buffet style and it was also very good! I will be back soon as the RIU properties have now earned my loyalty...Thank you for an amazing trip :)

My husband and I stayed here three weeks ago for four nights. From the time we entered the hotel we knew we had made a good choice. The hotel is beautiful and clean inside and out. The food was excellent. The pool is big and very clean. The wait staff were very attentive. The activities coordinators did a good job motivating the clients to participate. Every night they had really good entertainment in the theatre. WiFi access was good. The rooms are very nice and have a fully stocked fridge with sodas, beer, water, and hard liquor. We would definitely stay at this hotel again!!

We had a great trip here, Staff were fantastic and the cleanliness of the place was great. We constantly saw people cleaning all the littlest spots. The room was cleaned every day and when we called rooom service it was prompt with a smile. We never had any internet issues and the pool was fantastic. We even saw baby turtles hatch on the beach, they were picked up by security and taken to a turtle haven that releases them every day!! Great spot, can't wait to go back.

Overall the experience was great. The rooms were nice and many of the rooms had at least a partial view of the ocean. The room was clean and very elegant looking. Our room had a shower/jet tub combo. It sounds awesome but the tub was very narrow and made it difficult when standing. Also, as I believe other people have reported, their 'King' size bed was actually two double beds pushed together. The bed was also very stiff. I guess this is a plus or negative depending on your preference. This was not ideal but at least they had fitted sheets. Overall room experience was good. Staff and service were probably the best part about this. A lot of people talk about how they love their bar tenders and I am no different. The biggest thing for me here though was that you didn't feel pressured to tip. We did tip some but one of the days we went to a different RIU resorts down the road and they were not as kind. Also, at RIU Palace we could get whatever drinks we wanted and just about whenever w...

The Palace is a great all-inclusive for the Puerto Vallarta area. We thought that visiting in October, the off-season, would be a good plan. The only complaints were: impossible to make reservations for their specialty restaurants- had to eat in the buffet a lot, large groups of local Mexican families on the weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning) which made it hard to relax and enjoy the resort and the bed was extra firm and had a plastic sheet which added a bit of a weird feeling, like they were worried I we were going to wet the bed. All in all, we had a good time, enjoyed the staff, drinks, shows and sun. Don't go on the weekends during the off-season!
