It reminded me of the Pier House Resort in Key West. Beautiful gardens. Felt like you were in an secluded resort yet had direct access to the beach. Tiki bar, pool, free bike rentals were great. We had the smallest room which was more like a studio apt.
The pool is not really large enough for the amount of people staying there. Same with the tiki bar. It was very windy so we didn't stay at the bar for long but would have liked to. Might want to consider some kind of barrier to block some of the wind.
Good location. Good breakfast included.
Stairs! Not senior friendly for walking and climbing stairs. Most rooms have no view of ocean or beach.
Likes: the decor of the room. The location was good. The buffet breakfast was good. The staff were pleasant and accommodating.
Didn't like: Getting to the room involved going through a maze and waking up throughout the night after being bit by ?
Everyone was 'Stepford-like' nice.
No lounge chairs by the pool & staff was unwilling to bring them over to 'our' pool. Staff not willing to offer opinions on restaurants. No coffee services available during the day.
The staff! The view too! The Room! The Vegetation! EVERYTHING! Great Breakfast too.
Not a thing. as a matter of fact I liked it so much that I stayed another day
Excellent everything but the staff stood out above all.
Not a thing. Love it!
Great location and very well maintained hotel and grounds.
I did get a great price and the balcony view did reflect that. It was a large pine tree that we could touch covering any view.
The hotel is on the main strip and is close to beach, restaurants and shops.
I thought my room was beach side, but ended up being across the street. The room looked like it had not been touched since the 80's and had iron marks on the carpet, and a deck with loose boards that seemed very worn, not sure of it's safety!
Luxury rates for an economy/budget level facility. Creative photography on their website gives the illusion of a nice resort hotel. In reality the entire facility is a bit run down and dated. A busy public road cuts through the resort grounds. Complementary breakfast bar included flies buzzing around the food. Room had minimal furnishings and decor. Reminded me of a place a college student might stay at for Spring Break. Won't be going back.
LOCATION, friendly and helpful staff, very clean room
This is a great place if you simply want to enjoy a great beach and avoid a horde of tourists. The complex has beachside rooms and others across a residential street. We had the beach side rooms so the beach was practically outside our door. The rooms were clean, the free breakfast included all typical breakfast fare as much as you could eat. The kitchen in the room included adequte stove, frig, microwave, dishwasher and ample supply of plates, glasses, sileverware and some pots/pans. If you bring your own food, you won't need restaurants. It's true that other than swimming pools and bikes there are no other activities on the grounds. There is a bar-hut by the pool where drinks are served, and there is an outdoor jacuzzi by the pool. You can walk the beach either way for some miles. So if your main intereest is to relax, enjoy the ocean, sun-tan, walk the beach, read, enjoy a swim in the pool, all in a relatively crowd-free environment the place is perfect.
Our suite was a 2 bedroom and was roomy enough for the 4 of us. It was clean, hot breakfast right across the street was nice, beach was within 2 minutes' walk. Pools were nice. AAA discount was helpful. Only real complaints the fridge was not very efficient, and there was only one a/c source, so you had to leave the bedroom doors open . We didn't use the kitchen so I can't rate the equipment or appliances. Near good restaurants in Calabash and 45 min from Myrtle.
