Loved it. Loved that you had access to JW Marriot
Loved it all
Great location for things to do away from the hotel. Pool areas looked nice but I unfortunately didn't get a chance to use them. Would like to stay again to use the facilities.
Room key was confusing
We liked the grounds, pools, microwave and fridg in the room.
The room was too narrow, parking spaces were limited, the cool air blew continuously from the top of the wall vent right down onto the sleeping area. There was no adjustment for this vent to redirect the air flow, resulting in interrupted sleep.
I liked the location and cleanliness.
I did not like the bathtub, it was soooo shallow, and it drained itself like in 5 minutes, I didn't think the staff were that accommodating.
The Marriott environment, staff, room, location.
No teabags in the room, meaning a trip to the lobby and a fee to get a cup of tea. Seems like a small issue, but taking a shower, needing caffeine and discovering no tea bags makes it a big one. Also, no fresh fruit in lobby. I expect more from 4star.
very nice, perfect location
staff knocking on our door twice and calling us before 10;30AM the day we left
The hotel was clean and the location was good.
The refrigerator was broken, the hair dryer was broken, the cleaning lady walked into the room at 8 am (check-out is 10). I just expected more. Very average hotel.
Loved the staff, and the free event going on everyday!
It was very clean and in a good area.
Unimpressive bathroom that didn't meet the star rating. It needed a walk-in shower not a less than average tub. Activities/events weren't as advertised (I. E. coffee & donuts from 8-10 am- There were no donuts at 8:10 am and they ran out of coffee creamer
In the Marriott tradition, the villa was clean, spacious and well-appointed. Staff was courteous and helpful. Villas are designed to provide a home-away-from-home and this one had pretty much anything you would need... full kitchen, spacious double bath with separate tub and shower, walk-out patio, washer and dryer, safe, etc. The property was huge and was adjacent to a golf course and the larger, more expensive J.W. Marriott resort. There was a nice, full-service pool area for those who like to hang out and swim. Ample parking for all guests. The huge Desert Ridge Mall was right down the street and provided great opportunities for shopping and dining. Some minor issues: dishwasher had no cancel function, which had the maintenance staff so perplexed that they pulled the plug to shut off the machine (needless to say, we didn't use the dishwasher); one lamp in the bedroom had a faulty switch which was nearly impossible to turn on and off; the phone cards did not give a number to call to report problems, i.e. contact the front desk.
We live in Phoenix. We wanted to do a stay-cation. I love lazy rivers. Its like river tubing but with a bar always near by, so I can be even lazier and not have to be responsible for a cooler or its contents. Our plan was to check in early (as we requested an early check in) and then go float the lazy river until I was either sun burned or drunk or both. This, due to some very shifty moves on the part of Canyon Villas, did not happen either on Sunday or Monday. We get there at 2, which is not even 'early check-in' by most standards, ready with our bags in hand and visions of chlorine treated pool water rotating in a predestined circle in our heads. And they then explained 'oh, we're not going to be able to do that. Come back after 4' Mind you, the other two people standing there, got checked right in. Guess they must have been 'owners' huh Marriott? Four? Four PM? Are you kidding? Is this a poor taste birthday joke? Nope. We finally get into our room closer to 5pm because the desk staff wasn't ready for the bums rush of people checking in. Dinner was at 8, we were exhausted, tired of the garbage coming out of the mouths of the employes of this place, so we took a nap. At 6 I called down, asking for a late check out as the normal check out is 10:00 IN THE MORNING... Best they could do was 11. And our pool passes expired on check out. I never did get to go in the lazy river. But I did get to deal with lazy staff and managers who were rude and ineffective. When we mentioned on check-out that we were highly unhappy with our stay there, the desk staff didn't bat an eye or make any effort to make things right. This is the mark of a totally unprofessional operation.
The rooms were beautiful and so were the grounds. There were lots of activities and complimentary things to do ( foosball, ping pong, life size chess, air hockey and volley ball) . There were several pools and a lovely playground. This is an excelleny choice for families of all ages.
The hotel was great in room size and activities. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Very clean. Staff friendly. Pools were fun. Water aerobics class good. Pool side drinks yummy and refreshing. Time of year was hot (114) but if you stayed in the water stayed cool. Would definitely return.
