Nice room, comfortable beds, good shower
A little far from baseball and football stadiums
The price is too expensive to the service, no free breakfast, no free parking, a simple door between two rooms, neighbor's speaking and laughing was so clearly and bothering. I won't choose the hotel again.
No free breakfast, no free parking, simple door between two rooms, neighbor's voice about talking and laughing was clearly and bothering. The price is too expensive to the service, I don't understand why they showed clearly on line about this.
Great rooms, very engaging and helpful staff, easy location to all city
Upon arrival at 4 PM was told rooms not available due to professional sports team over stayed their time, Had to wait in lobby for over two hours. After a 7 hour car ride, this was unacceptable. All they could offer was apologies, lemonade and pretzels
Great view, convenient location, friendly staff
Bar drinks were way overpriced
We enjoy this hotel in downtown Pittsburgh...Clean rooms and the staff has always been very courteous and professional.
The location is in downtown Pittsburgh, but several blocks from the center of the downtown area. The subway station is a short walk from the hotel.
Granite countertops in living space and bathroom.Shampoo and body wash was very nice.Nice View.Convenient to the 'T' (public transportation)Convenient parking
Arrived at 6pm AND MY ROOM WAS NOT READY!!This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE at 6PM!!They did give us a free drink for our inconvenience, but I had to ASK for it.When we returned later, our bags were supposed to be in our room. You guessed it - Nope!
Friendly service, clean, quiet, nice fitness facility
Indoor pool was very cold, no hot tub
Bell Captain was fantastic as was the rest of the staff.
Was surprised how small the bathroom was and no place to hang towels!
#1 the dirty bathroom in our room! #2 you expect when you pay that much for valet for the attendant not to 'forget' you hand him your tag which resulted in us waiting for 30 minutes for our car.
Pool was depressing. Not much scenery.
Location was good, walking distance to most attractions, public transport.
Downstairs bar was sub-par. Food took a long time to arrive and drinks were not well made.
I ate breakfast on the first day and there was no flavor. Front desk lied to me. I asked to speak to the GM and was never contacted by them. All they wanted was my money. I won't stay here again.
When I got to hotel they let me know my room was no longer available and sent me to a hotel at the airport so it ruined our whole time there. Paying for room and reimbursing the room does not make up for the loss of our short planned out trip.
Staff was friendly, room was clean and nice.
It was a bit far from where we wanted to go downtown, but not too bad of a walk. Hotel is a bit isolated.
The clean rooms, very friend staff.
Parking was $22 per night... downtown, over the weekend it was $5 per night... Way too much money for parking. I feel they take advantage and really did not appreciate the unexpected expense.
The staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean and well maintained.
Room was right next to the elevators and was kind of noisy.
Nice room, comfortable bed
They could not get me a taxi. The waiting time was over an hour for a cab. Plus, lots of kids who played youth hockey. They had a pizza party in the lobby with kids running around chasing each other. Terrible environment for a 3.5 star hotel.
Booked the room assuming we had two double beds. We had 4 people and had to request roll ups. Did not go over to well. You really should have a search option which includes the request for two doubles.
The location was great and the room was nice
Took forever to get my car
nice interior with comfortable public areas. room with view of the city. Dinner was excellent. location convenient, self parking was a reasonable cost ..
There were no king size beds available, apparently. We had two double beds that were the most uncomfortable I have slept on in a hotel in a very long time. additionally the mattress pads were put on upside down.
Gave us an upgrade to a king Suite with a fold out couch
There was no bedding for folding couch in the room. We were playing cards and talking until the early morning. We did not feel we were loud but sadly disturbed someone. Staff came and threatened to eject us without a warning. Did not appreciate threat.
front desk staff was condesending
Parking is pretty ridic. The price of the garage is out of proportion and rates go up for everyone (including hotel guests) when an event takes place at the arena across the street.
The location was great. The staff were helpful, the public areas were beautiful and the room was very clean.
We booked our room for 3 adults (our 18 year-old son was traveling with us). When we arrived, there were no rooms available with double beds. A cot was brought up, but that was very uncomfortable for sleeping.
THE STAFF WAS SUPERB.
BANGING OF DOORS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT DUE TO A HOCKEY MEET OF MANY YOUNG BOYS FROM CHICAGO. BATHROOMS WERE VERY VERY SMALL AND WITHOUT EXHAUST.
The bed was so comfortable and the room was perfect!
After staying here my card that I used for incidentals, started receiving fraudulent charges. They refuse to say it could be because of their swiping it. I was even called a name when I called to speak to a manager by the agent who answered the phone.
Ummm... it was clean. There's that.
The bed was hard. The pillows were lumpy. Our room had a view of a parking lot. The restaurant service was very, very slow and my food was inedibly salty.
The shuttle service.
There was no spa or health club. The restaurant and lounge menu was very limited.
The one thing that was most appreciated about this hotel was the location for downtown activities.
We were stunned with the extra cost of both parking AND internet access. The hotel appeared dated in the rooms
The view and late kitchen
Parking in a public lot and the cost was so much.
Location and cost
No Safe in Room like at WM Penn Hotel an Hotel desk and reservations seemed unsupportive because I booked thru Priceline
Yes, I stayed an extra night have been billed twice for over $200
It was clean with comfortable bed.
There are rooms (mine in particular) literally NEXT to the elevator. Bathrooms are tiny, you barely have space to turn around. The rooms are extremely noisy from both the hallway and the street outside.
We really enjoyed being able to walk a half-block to the Consol Arena for the Penguins hockey games.
This hotel was great. Great location, nice staff, etc. My biggest complaint though...NO recycling bins!!! COME ON!! Thankfully the lady at the desk said she was disappointed they didnt recycle either and offered to take my recyclables, so thank you to her!!
An aging and very average hotel from the 70's. You will probably be sucked in here as a result of a company meeting or a wedding. You would have no other reason to stay here. We were there last weekend for a wedding. On Saturday morning the housekeeping staff was knocking on every door shortly after 9am. There are no 'do not disturb' hangers available. We asked them to come back later but were told in highly broken English 'not come back later'. We are also not coming back later.
We stayed overnight for a football game and the college team was also staying at the hotel. Rooms were not ready, but we knew where we were going, so we gave our Marriott credit card to check in and headed into the city for some pregame fund. We return around 10:30pm get our keys and our family of 4 had single king bed. Booked/confirmed 2 doubles. I call front desk, sorry we dont have 2 doubles, I'll send two rollaways. They arrived at 11:45pm, but we were told there were no pillows. Felt like cousins who arrived unannounced to the Marriott. We generally stay at Marriotts...rewards members...but it was clear this place had a large party and went past resources. It's old. The location is great if you're seeing hockey across the street, but forget the 'easy walk' to Heinz Field. We took taxi and were glad we did..especially with kids. Pittsburgh is not a hot spot for nightlife, and this place is in the middle of corporate buildings. You have the lobby bar if you dont want to drive..nothing special in walking distance. Parking overnight was $* in connected but unaffiliated garage. Room had two towels. It was just clear we got the last room of the night, as others probably complained and switched to different rooms and we weren't there to defend ourselves, we got the booby prize. I'm looking into Hilton Rewards programs. As a loyal member of Marriott, I had not 'frequent guest' experience. Im sure the one nighters who rarely stay were in the double beds we reserved. In today's economy, and having spent nights at Marriotts, if I'm treated like I walked off the street, then I'll just walk out and go to nicer properties when in Pittsburgh for games in the future.
Nothing great, nothing terrible, just pretty average for a Marriott. The rooms are fine for most travelers, and not designed for business travelers -- TV sort of small and not easily watched from the desk. There is a shuttle to take you to the convention center or around town, and a Starbucks in the lobby of a connected office building. The bed was very firm. I suspect it was Marriott's older style, not one of the new beds. On a corporate rate I can't complain about it, it was fine. At anything even close to their normal rates I would have been very disappointed.
I stayed here recently for a Penguins game at Mellon Arena across the street. It's a perfect location for that, and a near other downtown attractions. The staff was great and went out of their way to help on any request. I had a small suite, the room was large, with a nice sitting area. The bathroom was small, but well-equipped. The bed was great and the linens very comfy and cozy. Wireless internet would be a great improvement, though. The restaurant is inventive but uneven and expensive. There are nicer places nearby, but the bar is nice for a drink. I would happily stay here again.
Although this hotel was advertised as a 3-star establishment, I would not say it was any better than 2-star hotels I have stayed at. The hotel not having parking was inconvenient but understandable for a downtown location. However, the room not having a hair dryer or wireless Internet was harder to comprehend. Since I have stayed at 2-star establishments that had both, I arrived expecting the same and more from this hotel. Needless to say, we had to deal with wet hair longer than we expected, and Internet was limited to a desk where I was told I could hook up my computer to the cable in the wall. I like to work on my laptop from the comfort of bed, and this was not possible with no wireless access. I give it 7/10 all around for a high level of cleanliness, comfy beds and a nice lobby and elevators. As far as the room itself, it was just average, exhibiting nothing 'upscale' whatsoever.
Recently I stayed here while attending the Pens game across the street. For the price I recieved I could not ask for a better place
