No real negatives....indoor pool would be nice..
The location was perfect. The room was as good as good as any, not what was left over because of the low price. Breakfast was very good.

very clean hotel breakfast bar/cinammon rolls
This hotel was clean. Staff was friendly. Would stay here again.
This hotel was very nice and visually appealing. The only complaints I have would be a slightly steep rate and stiff beds.
I stayed one night this past August at the Holiday Inn Express in Corpus Christi-Portland. When I drove up to the hotel, it appeared that the parking lot and outside areas were still being renovated. Other than that, the hotel was new and very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. I used the business center which only accommodated two people, but I had no problems using the internet and was able to print what I needed. A continental breakfast is included and I was impressed with the variety that was offered. I would definitely stay there again.
My family and I came from an hour away to stay here because my son had surgery the next morning. We chose this place because it was NEW! Everything was clean! We were impressed that they made us signed an agreement to have no smoking and no pets! We have stayed other places that were yuck and this place was proud to keep it clean. We liked the new colors, furniture and modern feel in the room and bathroom. Helped us feel relaxed. My family (2 adults and 2 kids) will be looking to staying here first when coming back.
I spent two weeks here on a business trip. While outwardly, the place looks very nice, my room smelled sp badly of paint/chemicals that I had to burn scented candles in my room every night to drown it out. The windows don't open at all, so there is no fresh air. When I arrived, there was a coffee machine in my room with coffee. Once I drank the coffee, housekeeping never replaced it, nor did they ever clean the coffee station area. Several times, cleaning supplies/rags were left in my room by housekeeping. On one occasion, I needed to get some postage stamps. I asked the woman at the front desk if they sold them, or if she could direct me to a post office. She started laughing, and told me to go look online. There is no bathtub in the suite, only a standing shower. The water was always lukewarm. Also, I was concerned about the lack of security cameras n the corridors. I had to pull my door shut HARD in order for it to lock, and felt uneasy when walking to and from my room. The breakfast actually was ok. They had healthy options, as well as the bacon and eggs. There are no restaurants, or any other businesses within walking distance. Next time I come to the area on business, I will definitely stay in a better place.
