Do not bring heavy bags! There is no elevator! Also I requested a check in before 4pm, and when I got there at 2pm, I was informed "before 4" meant 3:30. The whole place smells like smoke even if you're in a nonsmoking room. It's the picture perfect example of a crappy motel. The sink, shower, etc don't work correctly and everything is sub-par. Pay a little extra and stay somewhere else.
Complimentary breakfast. I hated the security to get to your room. Extremely cumbersome and totally unnecessary for a 2nd floor room! To have to go clear around to open room from a central hall when there was an outside locked door which could only be unlocked from a round about inconvent hall. I would not stay again because of having to go clear around to open room when we could have opened from parking lot balcony which would have been a whole lot more convenient! !!!
Shiloh Inn Beaverton is my first choice for a business stay in Portland. The rooms are comfortable, beds are firm and bathrooms immaculately clean. The on site lounge and restaurant are perfect to entertain clients.
I liked the price I was able to get thru Kayak. I LOVED the hot breakfast option (but seriously scrambled eggs only, no sunny side up?). Nice Restaurant environment (could use better breakfast lighting). Comfortable Beds and good pillows. Nice to have fridge and microwave in room without extra cost. Great fountain and gazebo grounds decor. Good location. Professional desk staff (could use some more pep).
Only one sugar for tea/coffee in the room, frustrating. Even with AC/Heater off it made loud 'ticking/tapping' noises while trying to sleep. Shower dripped constantly and at times 'gushed', weird and wasteful. No color in bathroom - hospital plain. TV quality low and wifi signal poor. Metal room keys.... forgot to turn in and now have to pay to mail. Dining room staff could use a smile and would be nice to actually be greeted upon entry, felt like a 'chore' to have to wait on us. Didn't like that the room would read 'VACANT' unless you were inside with it locked....
The entrance to the hotel was very nice and welcoming.
Came back late from a wedding. We had clean towels only. Our beds weren't made. Bedspread was thrown up on one bed and the covers on the other bed were still thrown back. Apology only, no offer of another room. The day before the girl who cleaned our room did a very good job. However, housekeeping could use new vacuums, very loud and little pick up.
There was plenty of parking, and the rooms were clean. The staff were friendly. The bed was very comfortable and the shower head was super!
Our toilet had an add on lift to make it taller, but if the stream did not go straight down then urine would leak out between the plastic part and the regular toilet. The first time I went I ended up with urine on the floor, my feet, and my pants.
Generous, clean rooms. Great landscaping. Very good value.
The room was large and had a comfortable chair
there were very few channels on the TV
The room was clean. Definitely dated, but clean.
The courtyard is nice and the location was handy for our needs.
Horribly outdated. Paper thin walls. Listened to every footstep and bed creak in the room above us. Mold on the shower curtain. Air conditioner kicked off in a heat wave.
Staff was very friendly. Beds were comfortable. Hotel was quiet.
I had to ask for lotion. There was an empty water bottle left on the floor in the room.
Large rooms, worn but clean. Staff was polite.
Walls and floors allow even the most minor sounds t travel, snoring, walking, coughing, folks getting it on, showers etc. Maid pounded on the door at 8 a.m....staff should be informed who has checked out. I felt like I was being rousted out the door. No water pressure, just a bare trickle in sink. Lobby smelled of cigar smoke because of cigar smoking lounge adjoining entry. Complementary breakfast was very limited, instant eggs, greasy bacon and pancakes hard as leather. No fruit or juice, but those comp. breakfast are usually not worth participating in anyway.
The breakfast staff were super nice, they allowed dogs, everything was reasonably clean to the appearance, you could access the room from outside,
There were many less-than-awesome smells throughout facilities (cigarette odors and general deep set bad odors), the ice machine was out of order, the hot tub was out of order, the beds weren't very comfortable, very dated. There were communication problems between kayak and the hotel (had to pay extra for the room kayak promised, we ordered/payed for a double/double, but kayak only booked a single queen).
Everything was great. The front desk attendants, the restaurant wait staff, and the grounds keepers were all very nice and pleasant. The beds were very comfortable and the location was fantastic. We truly enjoyed our stay.
The morning buffet was a little light on drinks and food variety. No juices, just coffee. You could get hot chocolate if you asked for it.
Got a great rate from kayak for a hotel five minutes from zoo park area and 10 minutes from portland.
Hotel sandwich between car district and two strip clubs
Really friendly staff. Housekeeping kept the room well supplied and clean daily. Had breakfast once and dinner several times at the restaurant. Our dinner servers were really nice, very attentive, and the meals were really good.
Breakfast buffet was chaotic and we had to ask 2x for coffee. Food was ok but there were empty chaffing dishes for sort of long periods between the refills of the items.
- People at the front desk were so kind, friendly, and cooperative. - Room was clean and is cleaned on a daily basis. - Hotel has enough space for parking . - Hotel within miles from shopping centers and city/downtown attractions.
- there is an internet/wifi coverage problem in the hotel : I could not get a very good WIFI signal while in room . I had to go to the lobby to get a strong signal to be able to watch some live streaming . I reported problem 2 times.... it was re-set,, got only 1 bar and then gone ,,, it seems there is a problem that needs to be fixed. I would highly recommend fixing the problem and suggest installing few wifi boosters to ensure entire hotel is covered. The hotel brochure says that hotel has 24 internet coverage !!! - Hallways sometimes get noisy at mid night or after , especially , with pets like dogs .........did not like to hear a dog barking at around 5 am !!!
I liked the bar and the staff in the bar. The front desk had some very nice people working there. Laundry facilities worked very well.
Cleaning staff was not very good. I have pictures of various insects I encountered in my room including the insect bites they caused.
The rooms were clean and well kept. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The staff was fine
The facility was so dated from the garbage 25$ TVs to the old low quality carpet out bathroom was a mess and the was broken
Location, sports bar, cigar bar, the grounds, the large deck outside our room. Also, the breakfast was very good.
This Shilo, like many are in need of sprucing up, mainly exterior. Large deck needs to be a trex like product as many kids were walking and running barefoot. Only other suggestion: Shilo is in the service business. We were an over 60 mens soccer team. we had a game on Sunday (check out day) and asked to keep one of our 8 rooms untill 3:00 pm to keep our bags in and were told absolutly not. Other hotels we have used in the past have had no problem with this. These little things make a big difference.
It was less expensive than other hotels in the area and was within a reasonable distance to Beaverton attractions but a little far from Portland.
It was old and musty.
Comfortable bed. Great breakfast, Cleanliness. Quiet.
Dated fixtures and finish. Cleaning staff ignores energy conservation guidelines - don't ask me to "hang a towel and reuse" and then replaces all towels when I do exactly that. That is stupid and wasteful. Security lacking - outer doors never lock after 10pm as signage states leaving buildings open to intrusion.
