It was in downtown Portland, easy to find off I5 and 405.
A queen size bed took up almost the entire room. Had to sit on the bed to watch tv. Room was over priced at XXX a night plus $36 for parking Nearby parking seemed to only be $18 a night. The best thing about this hotel is Jajes grill next door.Over priced. Small lobby. Very limited public space. Nothing special to warrant XXX+ a night.
Nice, fancy. We got a good deal on Priceline.
Extremely expensive parking. Parked on the street instead, which sucked because I had to get up early to put money on the meter in the morning. Also, no pool.
Great room...VERY friendly & helpful staff!
Parking is little expensive.Great old hotel, beautifully updated, comfortable bed, large bedroom & bathroom with extremely helpful staff! Great location too! Convenient that there is a Starbucks in the lobby.
They obviously gave the worst room they had to the Priceline guy. It had no view and was on the lowest floor with no light. The room was fine and comfortable. But the coffee maker was awkward. Havin to find a plug behind a desk etc. It was a nice place
The staff was so friendly, so eager to make my stay perfect. The room was gorgeous and the location was perfect for my needs.
I have some special dietary needs and would have liked to have a refrigerator in my room. I have no doubt that the staff would have been happy to find a way to accommodate my needs if I had asked. I just would prefer to have a refrigerator in the room.My stay was wonderful. The room was comfortable and beautiful. The price was great. I ended up upgrading to a larger room and it was well worth the value.
Great room. Very spacious. Comfortable bed. Amazing gym.
Old...small rooms...didnt feel clean...parking was a rip off...definitely not worth the high prices!!! WAY OVER PRICED!!!The governor is a 4 star hotel. The lobby looks the part. As does the pricing! The room felt more like a 2.5-3 star hotel to me. It's an old building. The bathroom taps were loose so the water was always leaking. The toilet didn't flush very well. The lighting was horrible! My overall thoughts: unless your staying in just the lobby this hotel sucks! The only positive is it was located next to some great food trucks! I wouldn't recommend it or ever stay their again!
Just stayed a night to see Portland for the first time. Very historic and great vibe to this hotel. Great staff - very pleasant and helpful. Overall a nice stay, just need to pay more attention to four-star details.
Beds were a little springy. We still got a good night's sleep, but for a four-star property they could use some newer mattresses. Not having a bathroom counter space or shelf was a tad annoying.Fantastic location, clean room, great staff. Recommend.
Not close to a 4 star. Not even a flat screen TV. Really just an old hotel living off old reputation. $35 a night to park.Try somewhere else. Nice downtown location but there are others.
The gym was beautiful and seemingly recently renovated. I was the only one using it on a Saturday morning and was very impressed.
The hotel has valet parking for $35/day but there is a SmartPark location 1 block away that was much cheaper. The Governor Hotel is located conveniently downtown, a block away from the food carts and directly on public transportation. During our stay, we saw very few other people in the hotel, but the staff were all very polite and helpful. The room was spacious and we appreciated the skylights in our room, which provided a lot of natural light. We appreciated the Starbucks located in the lobby of the hotel and the gym, which looked like it had been recently renovated. We would definitely stay here again.
