The pool was out of order but I had called them prior to booking to make sure they had an indoor pool and a decent continental breakfast and they told me all about how great their pool was but failed to mention it's closed until further notice. What was I supposed to tell my kids? So I just went somewhere else that didn't miss inform me and we had a wonderful time at the Marriott.
The location is ideal for access to BYU campus, shopping, the Provo recreation center and Provo downtown (also for access to hiking/skiing in Provo canyon). Low prices through Kayak/Priceline
Our window was frozen open when we arrived (and temps outside about 11 degrees). We finally got it closed. In my room there was no thermostat, only a wall heater unit. You would turn it on to "Low" or "High" heat, but it would never self-regulate, so you'd have to get up during the night to turn it off when things got too warm, or to turn it on again as it got too cold. My adult sons were in a room with a thermostat (that worked out better). Breakfast was OK, but the fruit juice ran out and there should have been a better selection of cereals and fresh bagels. Our hall on the second floor had an employee break room and sometimes the whole hall smelled really strongly of fish or burned food.
the location is ideal for parents visiting their students at BYU.
the service to my room was non-existent.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the furnishings were good.
The room hadn't been cleaned or vacuumed. The shower. Curtain was so crusted with grime it stunk, and the sink wouldn't drain.
Proximity to BYU
We called directly for reservations, and they booked us in August instead of September, and billed us as a no-show. When we did arrive and got our key, we opened our room to find it not cleaned. The room they transferred us to had sticky drink rings on the table & top of the fridge. There was a beer bottle top on the carpet. We had 1 bath towel and 2 hand towels. We had to contact the front desk twice to finally get more towels, and we received 3 scratchy pool towels. There was no butter available at the breakfast, one of the employees had misplaced the key to the locked refrigerator where the butter was kept. Overall, poorly maintained and poor service.
It is very convenient for those who have business at or near Brigham Young University or for those who may be visiting their children at the university.
The outside doors have issues. I had to go to the front desk several times to get replacement keys because they would not open the outside doors at night.
Location suited my needs.
Facilities were filthy throughout, especially in the room. Lobby restrooms out of service all 4 days. Holes in carpet. Holes in walls. Perimeter doors did not get locked at night. Hot tub was empty with pool furniture inside of it, pool was disgusting. Will not return; cannot recommend.
Staff were polite. Checkin was quick. Modest accommodations, about what I expected for the great last minute price I paid. Very close to desired location.
A lot of families there and it was a little noisy late at night.
The room was all I expected it to be.
Hottub/pool wasn't open. I was looking forward to using both.
Worst place I've ever stayed! Never again...
The staff made me feel totally uncomfortable. Stood there five minutes at the counter before theanager would look up from the computer and acknowledge me. He was rude. There is no elevator. I couldn't carryy bags upstairs. Was given a room that was not very clean that was on a corner and faced the street. Didn't feel comfortable staying there so I left immediately and was told I would have to call priceline to get my money back. Called priceline who said they needed permission from the hotel to give money back. Hotel would not answer the phone when Priceline called. No room. No refund. Extremely unhappy. Will never ever use priceline again. They are horrible and would not help me get my money back. It was an all around miserable experience.
Bad service. No elevator. Should let you know that before you book a room. On a busy street with lots of noise. Rude when I asked for a refund. Priceline not helpful at all.
