1. Restaurants and great service 2. Availability of Starbucks 3. Staff in facilities was friendly and helpful
1. Gym is old and small 2. Swimming pool was closed for the winter 3. I was surprised I was charged for using the gym/spa that is so unattractive
The casino and bars as well as the sushi place. Very tasty and friendly.
Overall very dissatisfied with the room and hotel service for reasons stated above.
I love the fact that The Silver Legacy is connected to both the El Dorado and Circus Circus and also just a short few blocks walk to the other surrounding hotels and casinos. The location of this hotel is probably the best thing besides the coffee place in the lobby of the hotel called Sips which has the best coffee and really convenient in the morning.
Where do I even start? We went during Labor Day weekend and I knew it would be busy but the staff was HORRIBLE! They were so rude each time we called for guest services, which included, maintenance (because our bathroom didn't flush, room service, and for valet. Each time we called we had someone answer very rudely and sounded like they were annoyed by our requests which were only to get our car and to bring up our luggage. We waited for over an hour to get our bags, and had I known that I would of just hauled them in myself. The next thing is that we went to the pool and there were over 10 kids which I counted in the Spa when the limit says four. I guess parents thought it would be okay for their kids to bunch in and splash around all crazy when I mentioned it to the staff as a safety concern they said they knew and were "keeping an eye out" even though you could tell it was disrupting many of other hotel guests. I usually have a good experience here but this was by far the worst experience.
When we arrived we were greeted by a big burly Caucasian man with his nipples out standing in the lobby looking like Americas number one pedophile. The hallways had trash and room service food that cluttered the walkway. The bellman brought our luggage and passed by the Mess and thought nothing of it both times he came to our room. The TV did not work, and the mirrors and counters in the room were dirty and smeared with streaks.. I have owned a Janitorial/Maintenance company for over 20 years, and could show this housekeeping staff a few tips!!! Never again will I spend my hard earned money at this Hotel..
The staff was courteous, quick to respond, and knowledgeable.
We were able to check in early.
We had booked at least a month in advance and requested a king bed. Upon our arrival we were told they were sold out of king rooms. I used the sap services and it was ok, nothing special or memorable about the spa, pool area or services.
Price was ok. Bed was comfortable enough.
Waited in line of 20 couples just to check in... all road weary, took 20+ minutes. You'd think they'd want to check everyone in quickly so tbat you'll gamble your money away. A used washcloth wsited for us on our room's sink when we got to our room. Dried out, but used.
The only thing nice about this hotel is that it is in the downtown strip, however, I would still choose another hotel over this one, the el dorado next door is so much nicer and a better value, pay the extra couple dollars so that you have a nice stay.
The hallways smelled absolutely horrible, granted we were on the smoking floor, but I always stay on the smoking floor because when I am drinking I like to indulge a little bit, the smell was disgusting it smelt like stale cigarettes and someone dead, absolutely disgusting. Once we got into the room it was even worse, I complained about it to the front desk and they didn't do anything just a sorry that's how the rooms smell. Our bed had several broken springs, extremely uncomfortable, and our sheets had stains on them! So disgusting! Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. At check out I told the guest person how disgusting the room was and she simply ignored me and asked if I wanted the balance on my debit card. HORRIBLE room, HORRIBLE customer service. Spend the extra ten bucks and stay at the el dorado, they have luxury rooms with comfy beds, smoking rooms don't smell, and you are actually getting what you paid for, these were disgusting rooms for a luxury price, horrible.
That it is old and rooms need to be re-done.
Didn't spend much time in the hotel because of work but many amenities for all types
Scent of smoke in the room
I have been visiting this hotel since it opened. The location is great, casino is great, food is at their restaurants.
The power, AC, and plumbing went out during our stay. The AC never came back on in our room. After sever attempts to get them to fix it we had to demand another room and a comp. The staff never offered these alternatives or options. WE had to come up with these on our own.
Old west theme & displays of old west artifacts. I enjoyed dinner at Roxy's the filet was very delicious. My husband likes to play 3 card and they had it available. Other local casinos did not have the game available. The towels were thick. The room had a fresh smell!
Lost a button and couldn't get a mini sewing kit. Husband didn't like the prime rib at Roxy's.
The slots had decent payouts. We didn't feel like we were just chucking money at the machines. The servers both on the floor and in their restaurants could do with improvement. Angry, unhappy servers where the only thing they offer is service and we tipped every time but it didn't improve even if it was the same server.
The room was a great deal. Lots of different games available and connected to two other casinos.
The staff was always trying to help, making our stay a pleasant one.
I didn't care for the smoke filled environement, even though the area was declared a non-smoking area (our room). I don't blame the hotel.
They put us in a room right next to the elevator with paper thin walls and we couldn't sleep so we asked to move and they put us next to a giant party group that played music all night long . We Reyes to complains several times with no results .
Good location, like the fact that there are three Hotels connected together!
No perks. Better deal & perks at the connecting El Dorado Hotel
Love the restaurants and the blender bar.
Maintenance, house keeping, and requested smoke free room. We got a smoking room and needed an ionizer to take the smoke smell out of the room but did not receive it. Tried three times to get the ionizer.
Casino and regular staff were very friendly for the most part, a couple of curmudgeons but that comes with the territory.
Bathroom was very outdated and inner curtain for the shower was a bit dingy.
It has a great comedy club!
Th hotel room was nice and clean, but kind of boring decor and feel compared to other hotels.
The two restaurants that I ate at were very good. The valet team took good care of my car. The room was otherwise on par with other 4 star resorts.
My room was downgraded from a king to a queen. The room that I was downgraded to was adjacent to the elevator shafts. The elevators rattled the room on each pass. I didn't sleep very well. When I spoke to the front desk about it they said their hands were tied since I booked through a 3rd party (Orbitz via Kayak)
Whenever I go to Reno, I always stay at the Silver Legacy. Love how everything is within one building, good restaurants, and vibe.
Booked a Non-smoking luxury king bed through Kayak, when I checked in the women told me the casino (Silver Legacy) had told Kayak that they did not have any more of the non-smoking luxury king room available. All they had was a smoking luxury two queen bed. I did not receive anything about this from Kayak. I paid the same price for a smoking luxury two queen bed verses a non-smoking luxury king bed. What made it worst is that my boyfriend has asthma, so him being in a room were people smoked in was not good for his health. He had a hard time breathing the whole time we were there. Never booking with Kayak again!!!!
no mine show
Great coffee shop- cafe food excellent! Convenient location Friendly accommodating staff
Dinner buffet was terrible and expensive (Saturday night) They moved the Starbucks (used to be in lobby next to elevators for easy access) Check In isn't until 3pm Bathrooms are outdated
staff was very nice. the Sterling was great, wonderful food, and great service. We would go back.
mold around tub , two chips on toilet seat.
The music being played at the pool
Rooms were nice restaurants were good people great
Small pool, small bath
I did not like anything about.the place! The room smelt bad there was mildew in the bathroom the phone did not work and there is no wifi
It was vary disappointing
Hotel buffer being close during the week!
The hotel is very nice inside.
We had a reservation through a booking company. When we got to the hotel the desk clerk first claimed we didn't have a reservation. When confronted by my hard copy of the reservation he informed me that people booking through outside agencies were treated differently than those who booked through their website-they would not honor my "special request" of a non-smoking room. I have severe asthma and cannot stand smoking rooms but we had to stay since the room was paid for and we were too tired to move on. We got to the hotel at 7 pm, they put a cleaner in the room finally at 10 pm and we couldn't get in the room until 11. It reeked of smoke and the bedding was so bad we stripped it off the beds and slept without sheets, pillows or comforters. We left at 6 am to get away from it-giving me a total of 7 sleepless hours. They refused to give us a different room or any compensation for not meeting what we reserved. Additionally, the desk clerk was arrogant and rude, insisting I was lying about the reservation. Don't go there unless you're a high roller or smoker.
Room was "delux with view" had zero view. Just sheets on bed called for a comforter they said they were out.
everything was fine but I think it's an expensive hotel especially for retirees.
The tv didn't work.
Staff was very rude. Coffee machine in room had no coffee, sugar or cream. Front desk informed us they charge extra for coffee pods, sugar and cream. The bed had no blanket. Trash can in bathroom had trash in it from previous occupants. The drinks in the casino were overly watered down.
