The tale of 3 rooms. The first room had a strong stench of cat urine upon opening the door. Went to the desk to get a different room. Was told that happens, the carpet cleaner was broken and a new one was ordered. We were given a new 'upgraded' room, going from 1 queen bed to 2 full. Second room issues included refrigerator that wouldn't close, stains on chair seats that had to be covered with towels and the final blow....bugs! We saw a dead bug by the AC unit but felt any room could have a stray bug, at least it was dead. When we saw bugs on the wall and scurrying on the dresser, that was it. When going to the desk I was told that the only condition a refund could be given was if the bugs were cockroaches. We went back to the room, grabbed two of the critters with a Kleenex and took them back to the desk. Sadly, we were told they were 'beetles' and they don't give refunds for beetles. We were offered a third room. Our adventure began with the third room door not opening. It's late, we are tired. Into the room we found no horrible odor and the fridge worked! Hooray. Further inspection revealed the following: a distorted, poor color picture on the TV; filthy furniture; no coffee maker; shelves missing the the refrigerator; a stained toilet; an unknown 'substance' streaking down the back of the bathroom door in multiple locations (noticed when the door was shut to take a shower) and last but certainly not least, BUGS. To top it off the beds were boards, sheets were clean but stained, blankets were old, worn and pilled. Total exhaustion, refusal to refund our payment and desire to go to sleep as quickly as possible to leave as soon as possible were the only reasons we stayed. The situation was brought to the attention of the front desk no less than 8 separate times. The front desk has no authority or ability to resolve problems at the hotel. They have a list of rules with no ability to deviate (bug refund). Was the bug a beetle or a cockroach? I have no idea. I am not an entomologist. As a customer, my room had bugs and numerous other issues that in a hotel concerned about customer satisfaction, would have been 100% corrected or a refund happily given. Run like the wind. Drive a little extra if need be. I would never consider this hotel again, would advise against any child ever being housed in one of these rooms and feel only adults that normally camp in an unscreened, musty tent with no bed pad would find this hotel acceptable.
