Longest wait I’ve ever experienced.

This was the worst car rental experience I have ever had. I waited 2 hours in line. There were about 30 ppl in front of me when I arrived and two Budget employees. Once I got my car all the windows were rolled down and the car smelled like weed. There were no alternatives. I had to leave the windows down all the time and drive around in 30 degree Michigan weather. Terrible experience.

Pure trash. It was 0° outside and this company refused to rent me a car because I had tape on my license. I had to walk over a mile in the cold and got sick. The manager could care less go across the street and use enterprise.

Everything was fine. When I asked to extend the rental from another 18 hours, though, I was told the fee would have been $103. That is excessive.

Friendly and accommodating staff. Helped us change our car with no hassle at all.

Cons:

Cleaning of the vehicle. Front was still had a lot of bugs and it looked like there had been something spilled on the inside of the rear ds door, that had only been partially wiped up.

They don't rent to locals. Kayak should have known that before allowing me to book a nonrefundable rental!

The lady at the Detroit airport pickup office was incredible! She was kind, efficient, and extremely helpful. There was an issue with the first vehicle I picked up. The car smelled like someone had been smoking in the vehicle. That was not acceptable for a week rental. When I went back to the counter and pointed out this problem the person helping me was apologetic and immediately arranged for another vehicle. I would hire this person to work in my office.

Due to Covid, we had to cancel our trip, and this our reservation. Delta refunded all of our money back. Thrifty did not, and blamed it on Kayak. I will now use neither.

Tricia was top-notch, extremely helpful to me when I was picking up the car and dropping it off. I wish more rental car companies had people like her to help folks like me!

Pros:

2019 Camry was a great car.

Cons:

$13/day to add a spouse as a driver is ridiculous. Every other car rental company that I’ve used does this for free. Will not be using Thrifty in the future on this basis.
