The Comfort Hotel Rouen Alba is ideally located in the heart of Rouen, the capital of Haute Normandie. In the historical, sightseeing, and commercial heart of Rouen. The hotel is situated just a few meters from the cathedral, the old city center and its antique shops. The Comfort Hotel is and ideal stop over for both vacation and business travels. The exceptional location has an added advantage of quietness. Breakfast available at 12EUR per person, subject to change. Good value for money. No luxuries but comfortable and clean, thus no complaints
The staff were very helpful
The room is inadequated completly to receive 3 persons.
Desperately needs updating those tired rooms. Noisy location on busy square. Had to leave windows as weather was so hot but some people were noisy outside all night.
Location is excellent, right in the middle of the city center, close to everything, around the corner from the Notre Dame! Bed was nice. Peaceful surroundings, so you could keep your windows open at night for fresh air without hearing much noise from outside. Friendly and helpfull staff. The hotel uses keycards the size of creditcards so you could easily keep your roomkey with you in your wallet when you went out. Sunday and monday there's free parking just in front of the hotel and for the rest of the week you can park your car around the corner for 9 euro's per 24 hours. In general, the facilities are in working order. Read more below.
We changed rooms because the sink of our shower was clogged. The staff could've handled this problem a bit more accurately because we had to go to the reception 4 times before everything was fixed. The showers in both rooms are tiny!
The personnel attention
maybe the fact that there is no elevator or continental breakfast included:
Split site, exceptionally cramped room, no lift
The hotel promises a sight either to river or to Rouen cathedral. We saw a spire of the chatedral from our window but actualy it was rather unpleasant sight to a courtyard with garages.
I know Latvian, English, German, Italian, Norwegian and Russian and a little bit French. A man at the reception during our check in clear English said that he did not speak English and requested us to speak with him in French or in any other language he knew. It was clear French snobbery with which we came accross in many cities of Bretagne and Normandy. French is very nice language but after the holidays in France I do not want to learn it at all. It seems to me that a hotel is for clients but not vice versa.
no parking facilities, close to a young persons area, street noisy until late
Great view of the cathedral from bedroom!
