The hotel was exceptionally quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent in terma of quality and selction.
The dinner menu is too limited. There needs to be a greater variety of choices either by changing the menu for each day or in the selections offered.
Very good restaurant. Excellent design of the hotel, very comfortable rooms.
No brochures and menu in English. The swimming pool is mostly fro children, no beach near the hotel - is necessary to go to a beacg by car.
Superb food and friendly staff. The hotel is modern and well decorated.
The leisure centre closed rather early at 19.00 with check in only allowed from 16.00 and was disappointingly not open at all on Sunday. We got no use out of it and I would urge the hotel to keep this open at weekends when most use can be made of it and a little later into the evening, say 20.00. The hotel is also not near any restaurants so choice is limited. The excellent food made up for this but it makes sense to include breakfast in the rate as there is no choice but to eat at the hotel. We found the hotel expensive for what and where it was.
beautiful location, very good couisine, nice spa/swimming pool
staff is not aware of many tourist information, no tourist prospects available, if any then only in French
The hotel has recently been redecorated and first impressions the reception / lobby area looks really modern and clean
I thought it was very overpriced for what you got. No mini bar in room, safe that was not attached to anything!, No iron. The private balcony was not private at all as people walked past quite often to get to the other hotel and there was no screens between the other balcony just small wall not even knee high
If one is very physically fit, bicycling and hiking is available for island exploration. Otherwise a car is necessary. If one is interested in a beauty spa environment the close relationship with the spa next door is valuable with the exception that it is closed on Sunday. If one is interested in being alone, the hotel was quite isolated and desolate in feel, very very quiet. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful when they could communicate in English. The food both in the hotel and attached spa was more than adequate in portion and was very delicious as well as presenting a varied and interesting cuisine. Cocktail hour was pleasant with interestingp, tasty hors'doevres. The hotel and restaurant were immaculately clean and nicely appointed.
Transportation from the train to the hotel was not arranged for me by the hotel, although apparently was available and at 1/5 the price of the local taxi service. I arrived at 10:30 am but, although checkout was noon, my room was not ready until 4:00 pm. The various meal plans were not described and upon questioning, the staff could not explain the plans in English. Without a car I was fairly stranded at the hotel, not able to visit the remainder of the island nor La Rochelle. The hotel was much more isloated and desolate than I had expected. The low tide did not allow ocean swimming during the bulk of the daylight hours, but only revealed a very rocky, seaweed-slimy beachfront. The swimming pool at the spa next door was indoors, with very warm salt water, not the refreshment one desired during a hot day. The hotel shop was closed on Sunday, very inconvenient when so isolated from the rest of the island.
Sunday morning at the desk the main staff member at the desk made a nasty and not service friendly impression. At Saturday the staff was very good and friendly.
