Prime Waterfront location on San Diego Bay. Offers a resort-like setting with bay view rooms. Five minutes from the airport and walking distance to San Diego Convention Center, Seaport Village, Headquarters and Gaslamp Quarter. Easy access to San Diego Zoo, Sea World and Beaches.
Great service and friendly staff. Room was clean and updated (with an incredible view). Also a great location for hitting the downtown SD spots. Only downside (very minor) is the breakfast in the hotel restaurant is buffet only. Would've liked an option to just get some eggs and a juice without paying $40 for all-you-can-eat. But there are plenty of other places to eat, so no worries. I'd definitely stay there again.
The room was beautiful and clean! The facilities were amazing and the gym was phenomenal. So much is available at this hotel. It's truly "grand".
Beautiful views of the marina, which is right out the back door. Great view of Coronado from the pool/jacuzzi deck. Nice ocean breeze. Proximity to Gaslamp Quarter is just a walk away, or a short cab ride. Staff is friendly and on top of cleanliness and service for guest needs. Pretty much top notch all around.
Parking in the structure was difficult. More compact parking spots than regular size it seemed, which inevitably means trucks and oversized vehicles are going to park there anyway, so they do. Also, when we pulled up to valet, they said it was full, however, there were plenty of valet spots open in the parking structure. Maybe it was because we were in a Kia Sorento rather than a BMW X5. Also, once you do get parked, there is ONE elevator, or ONE set of stairs to get up and down to and from your car, which is very inconvenient. Once inside the hotel and settled though, aside from over priced food and drinks, it's a great luxurious family hotel. You get what you pay for. If It Were TOO easy, EVERYONE AND Their Mother Would Stay there. Overall: Parking=Booooooooooo! Staff, service and rooms=Yaaaayyyyy!
The hotel motif is very modern. Clean and simple lines. Really liked the gym. Very well equipped and fairly clean. The people who use the equipment seem to be cleaning after themselves. I liked the cafe downstairs as they had what I would eat on my special diet. I booked a room with a view and we had a view of the bridge and the boat harbor. The hotel next door had major renovation so we entertained ourselves watching the workers walk around and move stuff around with equipment.
I know CA has water shortage but the sink water pressure was ridiculously low. So much so that the water temp would not reach warm. I ended up using the shower for brushing my teeth. The garage does not accomedate large cars which made it difficult to park the Suburban, not XL just normal size. There are some spots but the compact cars park there and 90% of the parking spots are really compact. The stairs in the parking structure need to be cleaned and aired out they have an intense urine smell. We like to take the stairs but kept with the elevator for that reason.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The spa was amazing. The room was very nice and the view from the room was terrific. We enjoyed the pool, too.
The over priced brunch at the hotel restaurant. The only thing that was hot was the eggs from the omelet station. Serious work needs to be done to keep the rest of the hot food hot.
The hotel was in pristine condition. Very clean and organized. The staff wad friendly and helpful. As soon add you walk in to the lobby you get a sense of luxury. A bit pricey, but for a good reason. The room has up to date decor, looks good, and again was very clean. The view was spectacular. Definitely makes you feel better about the price. The location was very convenient as it was waking distance from cafes and just a short can ride away from the gas lamp night life.
The doors and windows are way too thin. We could hear everything that was going on in the adjoining room even zippers. The window to the street was so thin that we could hear every car revving their engine down the street and every police and ambulance siren as if they were in the room with us (we were on the 19th floor). I could even hear my own radio playing half way down the hall when I went down to smoke a cigarette (the radio was not turned up loud).
Great staff. Location was perfect to walk to seaport village and gas lamp district.
The staff was very friendly and efficient
you didnt have a business center so I could work outside the room as I didnt have a Laptop with me . No free wifi to send a receive mails in my phone. This two things are a must in European five stars hotels and are always free.
Wonderful location. Rooms clean, nice attention to detail. I would stay here again.
Cleanliness of garage elevators (brass) and not notified of $30 daily parking fee until exiting garage, then card not activated by lot attendant so we were not able to reenter and had to visit desk again to get it resolved. Very disappointing and not comfortable that, after all of the confusion, I will be charged properly.
Staff were indifferent to concerns/requests. Communicating events was poor.
