The staff was very nice
Dirt in the sheets, found hair on the towels. Not a good area to stay in. Right next to a sketchy bar/club had to turn up tv to not hear music.
Close to town
The doors were hard to close. Had to slam them to close them. Disruptive in the morning or evening
Closeness to old town Savannah
ground floor rooms had ants everywhere.... they moved us immediately to a better room.
What I really enjoyed about this hotel was how "homey" it was. You see I am an unhygenic slovenly person and I hate feeling so uncomfortable at these ritzy places that charge you three times as much just for basic cleanliness. I mean "health standards" are really just code for "price gouging". I really enjoyed their cozy personal touches! They even leave some pubic hair in the bathroom and all over the beds just to remind you of home! And just in case you didn't notice them all over the shower (I mean it's not like I was really going to need to use that anyways, right?) they leave a few on the hand towels to keep you on your toes. I also really enjoyed the blood splatters on the walls, the blood soaked curtains, and bullet holes!
The grease stains on the beds and all of the furniture as well as the acrid chemical smell emanating from the carpets were really not my favorite. I'm usually more of a food stains and wet dog smell kind of a person. Also, the woman at the front desk was no help in anything much less finding out how to get any of the appliances to work (though to be fair, the TV DID make some ominous clicking noises about 20 minutes after you touched its remote). These and curtains that didn't close, blood specks from recent bed bug activity, and fixtures that shocked you to the touch are really a small price to pay for an overpriced adventure into the slummy suburbs of Savannah! I mean safe and sanitary just doesn't give the authentic experience!
They don't have a blow dryer and a clock in a room, so it was inconvenient. I wish they could show guests what they have and what they don't have in a room. otherwise, everything else was ok.
I liked that I had a bed to sleep in.
The room smelled bad. It was hot when I walked in. The curtains were stained. The t.v. was way across the room from the bed. The chair was so old and dirt, I was afraid to sit on it. The bathroom was gross. The sink was cracked and stained. The bathtub was old and stained and the drain was broken. When I took a shower it didn't drain and shower curtain would fly up and stick to my body pretty much the whole time. I stayed 2 nights but only took 1 shower because of all of these things. The toliet paper holder on the wall was broken so it had to sit on the back on toliet. There was mold around the fixtures. When I turned off the light switch by the door and every thing went out, t.v., lights, everything. It was not a comfortable stay.
Hotel Staff were friendly.
Did not had a complimentary breakfast.
Hotel was convenient to River Street, shopping and restaurants. Considering was holiday, price was good compared to many other hotels in same general area.
Bathroom was dirty; shower knobs were leaking and rusted, human hair in shower, in sink and on bathroom floor. Carpet was torn in several places. Bed was not a true "king" size and uncomfortable. Many rooms were occupied by permanent residents so noise level was high.
