You will feel the country charm throughout, a fireplace, hardwood floors and the personal touches of home. For some it is the cozy rooms, complimentary Be Our Guest breakfast, indoor pool and whirlpool and great rates. For others, it is the little things we do...a warm smile and friendly hello all set in a quite residential area. 2015 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence winner
The bedding Nice breakfastQuiet
No warm lights in bathroom
The hot breakfast was great! French toast one day, omelettes the next. Hot tub/pool area were nice
The room was clean and did not smell.
I was not told online that the room did not have a microwave and frigde. Would have paid for upgrade had I known.
The bed and the comforters are very comfortable.
It is close to the train tracks, and the train whistle woke me up both nights. The hallway was also very noisy with late (or early) travelers who woke us up both nights.
Hotel is under remodel. Cant even tell so clean we liked everything
Good, safe location
In need of new carpet and furnishings
Nice pool area. Very good breakfast with hot and cold food choices.
Friendly staff. Great location. Good morning breakfast!
amenities a bit outdated but clean and nice.
The location was perfect in relation to the event we were attending
The breakfast space was small and cramped.
Nice people, good location
Chicken fried steak at breakfast Buffett
Free ice ok breakfast loved the muffins and selection of juice
Ohhhh man ronvations the likes iv never seen front door to room very very hard to open due to the door sagging and the small time allowed to open. poop streaks in the toilet
No fan in Bathroom.
The only thing that was good, was the breakfast and 24/7 coffee
The fact that they put us dead center of 50 children. They had a hockey tournament the same weekend, but they could have told us that at the time of check in. Needless to say, we had kids playing outside our room door and running back and forth.
The beds and pillows were horrible. Breakfast area was tiny and did not allow for access for all guests.
Ended up getting the last room that was open. Was all good until the boiler below kicked on and off all night long. The smell was also not pleasant. They wanted to refund the money but because we went through Priceline that wasn't an option. Disappointing
Staff was friendly and willing to fulfill our requests without hesitation.
Quiet. Next to the Log Cabin if you wanted a more protein type of breakfast. Location for us fine.
Overstuffed chair had cracker crumbs on it, fabric was very dusty to the point were the dust didn't come off with the disinfectant wipes we always use in hotel rooms. The bed skirt on one of the beds was in need of cleaning. Obvious stain was on it.
Friendly staff, good location
Decorating really needs to be updated. Ruffles, Ruffles, Ruffles!
The staff was great and the breakfast was good. The rooms were ok.
The bathroom tile was dirty and had holes in it.
Good hot breakfast.
Guest room could use 15 minutes with a bottle of spray upholstery cleaner.
Other Country Inn & Suites are more spacious, dining area is more accommodating, breakfast has more variety. Many have nicities like bottled water in the rooms, and extra blanket(s).
My wife & I stayed here over Christmas 2011 while in Wausau visiting relatives. As we'd be spending most of our time with the family, we really just wanted a quiet, clean, & comfortable place to sleep that wasn't too expensive. Choices are limited in the Wausau area. The Country Inn & Suites seems to get good reviews here, but is one of the less expensive in the area. For the price, we weren't entirely sure what to expect, but I'm pleased to say that the Country Inn & Suites exceeded our expectations. The lobby was nicely decorated for Christmas; warn & welcoming, the fireplace was always lit with free coffee, cocoa, & cookies waiting there for guests. A nice touch for the holidays. The hotel was not very busy during Christmas, and so it was very quiet. Our room was perfectly adequate. For the price, it was great. But don't expect a Westin, Four Seaons, or Ritz Carlton experience. It's a good, basic, clean place to stay. Nothing more, nothing less. The room was spacious enough. The carpets were a little threadbare, the TV was just a small tube, and the bed was just all right. A bit hard, sheets a bit scratchy, pillows a bit tired, but again, this isn't a 5-star place. We slept well enough to be refreshed. The room did have free WiFi, the HVAC was decently quiet, and the bathroom was clean, with plenty of hot water. One thing that definitely exceeded our expectations was the staff. Especially the manager. I didn't catch the young man's name who helped check us in, but he was exceptionally welcoming & pleasant. He deserves praise for being so welcoming on Christmas Eve, when I'm sure he'd rather be home with his family. So all in all, if you're looking for a clean & decent but inexpensive place to stay in Wausau, this place is great. We would definitely stay there again.
Hotel is outdated small rooms Price was a little high for what you got. Staff was average. Nothing that would make you come back
On a recent visit to the Wausau area for a family reunion we stayed at Country Inn and Suites. The hotel was located in a nice area off the freeway, it was clean and welcoming. The continental breakfast was excellent. We had a one room suite which suited our family's needs well. If we had the occasion to visit this area again, we would not hesitate to book a room here.
