The Duck Smith House will delight your every senses! From the moment you arrive you will be greeted by the friendly sisters, Barbara & Suzanne and Daisy Mae (the resident dog). Each of the four bedrooms, with their own bathroom, was meticulously chosen to have its own personality and charm. Breakfast! Come into the sunniest room of the house with each of the four tables perfectly set with lace tablecloths, fine china, crystal and fresh flowers. Enjoy the small sample of the Seagrove Pottery in this delightful breakfast room. There's fresh ground coffee or herbal teas, fresh fruit and one of Barbara's wonderful breakfast specials...stuffed French Toast or maybe blueberry pancakes. Small portions aren't the standard but can be accommodated so don't forget to let them know.Relax at The Duck Smith House where you can mingle with the other guests or just be by yourselves. There are maps and business cards in front of some of the pottery pieces for you to plan your pottery shopping day. Visiting the quaint shops and talking with the potters will put smiles on your face. Don't miss the North Carolina Zoo which is the third largest free roaming zoo in the country and less than 10 miles from The Duck Smith House. Visit North America and/or Africa with it's five miles of shaded walking paths through the woods. Birders be thrilled with Suzanne's hanging bird feeders from the 100 year old black walnut tree. Come stay at The Duck Smith House, be pampered and know that when you stay here you will be spoiled and have memories that last and last.
