I enjoy the charm of older hotels and this one fit the bill. I paid $120 including tax through Kayak. The location is excellent. There’s a lot of variation in the room sizes. My son and daughter-in-law were at first assigned to a room so tiny that they could hardly walk around the bed, but they asked for a larger one and were assigned a very nice room with lots of space and a large sofa. My room was large with two queen beds and a love seat. The beds and pillows were great!
I read the signs about saving energy, so hung up my towels and bathmat to keep them from being washed every day but I guess the housekeeping staff couldn’t read and replaced them every day anyway! Our big problem was the smokers!! I spent some time in my son’s large room, and was nearly knocked over by the strong smell of smoke in the hall. We complained to the front desk numerous times, and they kept saying that they would handle it and let us know, but it never improved. The first evening, after hours of smoke, we finally smelled some air freshener spray trying to cover the odor. We were told that a flight crew were the culprits, but they were obviously not told to leave if they were going to smoke, since it happened again the next day. My son and his wife were offered another room for their last night, but that’s a major pain to move. It’s hard to believe that a hotel cannot handle law-breakers in their establishment!
The room itself was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The location is central. The price very reasonable for downtown Seattle. Parking is expensive (but again its downtown Seattle).
There are no amenities at this hotel. No restaurant. No bar. No pool. No room service (no food at all) Coffee by the front desk is about it. Additionally, the hotel does not have much character and neither do the rooms.
The management was very rude and non understanding
Beautiful room. Stores and bars all around. Close to the bus stop and light rail.
The elevators were small and only two for 20 floors and no pool.
Location was excellent and there were no unpleasant surprises
Pretty bland and indistinguishable from all the others - -no character, especially for a place named after TR On way out, front desk did not have the ability to change a $20 bill - -what's up with that?
Hotel was very clean. We had five rooms, two of them were not ready when we checked in and the staff was very quick to give the guys two MUCH nicer and bigger rooms in response. Overnight parking may have been a little spendy but it seemed very fair to not have to hunt through downtown for a better deal (and to have the car in an accessible location). It was very easy to get to our meeting in Queen Anne and then very easy to walk through the city when the work day was over. I would definitely stay here next time I am in the city for a fun weekend.
I needed to change the day of my stay and the staff was very courteous and flexible. The hotel is located in the center of the shopping and restaurant area. Very beautiful place.
The vintage look of the hotel & the location. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The room was small, but very clean. We would definitely stay there again if we were able to get a good price.
There really aren't any amenities. No hot tub or pool & most important no breakfast.
The location is great. The staff was very concerned and tried to be gelpful
The hotel had no record of my reservation; if I hadn't been able to show my prepaid reservation on my phone, I would have had to pay again. The room was tiny; the hotel has no amenities, not even a vending machine. When I returned at 5:00pm my room had not been cleaned. Definitely not worth the $200 plus per night I paid.
Friendly and helpful staff and clean contemporary rooms. Highly recommended.
Concierge, Eric, was most helpful with a dinner recommendation to Blueacres Restaurant for seafood. He provided us with a card for a complimentary appetizer which was wonderful! Beds were most comfortable and we enjoyed our view towards the water on the 18th floor.
Would have liked a reading light over the bed.
Only a 7 block walk to Pike Place Market, In the middle of shopping, cucumber/lemon water in the lobby, friendly staff, clean rooms, decent sized rooms.
I wish they would've had a pool.
No complimentary breakfast?!
The staff were all very nice and accommodating. The hotel and its rooms were exceptionally clean! The location is also convenient. It took us five minutes to walk to the market and we were relatively close to several other tourist locations. There are many great places to eat close by, for both people that only want familiar places and those that want to try some of the local dishes. I was pleasantly surprised that the beds were nice and warm, coming from a person who usually needs nine layers to sleep. We ordered extra blankets, but didn't need any of them. The standard four or five were just perfect.
The wifi is terribly slow! Also, make not that there is not parking area, only valet. The next door parking garage is eight dollars an hour - thirty dollars a day max. I could not request a room with double queen beds so I called ahead of time, twice. They seemed accommodating but upon arrival I was stuck with two double beds. The initial reserving is troublesome, and the rooms themselves are a little small. The way they organized the rooms makes you feel cramped. Bathrooms on the small side as well. Overall, I know there are better places out there for this price range.
Staff does not knock when entering room
Elevators and ongoing work
No restaurant, rooms were small. Person that checked us in (and out) had zero personality and tried to charge us at checkout despite knowing we had pre-paid for room. Hall smelled like smoke, lots of aggressive homeless outside hotel.
