Location to resturants. night life, and subway
Dirty windows everywhere along with trash out site of room window and a sense of just not making a positive visible impression
It was close to public transportation.
Realizing I was on a reduced rate that was not inclusive of breakfast, a cup of coffee that wasn't even remotely good costed around US$7. The bedding type I reserved was not given to me at check-in and beds were rock hard.
This place was pretty convenient for me when I went down in March 2011, for 8days. A few things: There is an Outback steakhouse right around the corner to the left. A money exchange bank a few minutes - exit hotel, walk to the right A Dunkin Donuts and a E-mart upon walking few minutes to the right. The Blue subway line that will take you to myeongdong market :) Its just a few minutes - exit hotel walk to the right Bus stops are there as well. A 24hour 7/11 right across the street on the left. If you EVER GET LOST, ask someone in a 7/11, they will try to help you find your way. I got lost on my first and second days and they helped me find Hotel Victoria. They have lots of Ramen there, and snacks in store. HIghly recommend you Get a T-money card! Lots and lots of Taxis always and definitely get the one's labeled 'international' if you can. The Hotel: They have breakfast from 7am to 10:30am and it costs around 13won.Very good selection of food! They will always come in to clean your room. You do have a mini fridge, and they will give you a free water bottle everyday! Depending on who is at the desk, some will speak english and they will always try to work with you. There is a night club attached to the hotel. (never went) I was on the 10nth floor, usually everybody turns in early. The room itself wasn't all that spectacular. Dim bathroom lighting. not a great a/c. But the tv and beds were great! The only thing that really bothered me was the free WiFi! Its not accessible 24/7. Sometime's I would have it, sometimes I would not. Its there on the weekends. But on weekdays, its only available during certain times. I never found out why. Overall it was quite convenient.
Staff were always VERY helpful, even after our return home when we needed extra documents for a travel insurance claim. Sufficient staff spoke English. Rooms were clean and were appropriate to the price paid. This was at the time of the Iceland volcano, so there was extra demand on the lobby computers - not enough PC's (2) for the demand. We had 3 children with us, who enjoyed themselves alot. Location was excellent for public transport and the limo airprt bus is just a short walk away. Supermarkets nearby and restaurants, etc.
We thought it looked a bit dingy at first, but the room proved to be comfortable and clean enough. The only complaint was cigarette smoke in the hallway because some guests left their doors open while smoking. Some smoked and talked loudly in the hallway. Late-night checked in guests were talking loudly in the hallway and it went on for an hour or longer in late night hours.
I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights while visiting Seoul and will be staying again every time I visit the city. The price can't be beat and, though it is a bit dated in the appearance, the staff and room were all great. The only place I saw carpeting was in the hallway to my room and though it was a bit dirty, the room and lobby were always very clean. The subway station is very near the hotel and everything a siteseer would want to see is easy to get to from the subway line that the hotel is on. The location is north of Seoul centre and for some being in a very Korean neighborhood may be a bit offsetting, but it's a safe neighborhood and I never once felt uncomfortable walking around.
I stayed at Hotel Victoria, Seoul for 3 nights in November 2008. The room and hotel were clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was real Korean, not touristy. The location was not very convenient to where my business was, but that flaw was my lack of planning. Automobile traffic is terrible anywhere in the city. The main negative was people's impressions. They said I was staying in an undesirable part of the city, but I felt comfortable and safe day or night. I would stay there again.
i staied there 3 night last AUG. In conclusion, the hotel was satisfactory accomodation. After reading previous reviews, i was worry about many things but you guys should be remember how much you paid for there. The hotel is a bit old deco and tired but as you guys know Seoul is an expensive city for accomodation. The staff at reception were very friendlyand easy access from airport via airport limousin bus and city center. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who find simply looking for a clean and comfortable hotel in a good location. Plenty of restaurants next area and two banks make you combiance
there is good location to go to anywhere by subway front of hotel. and good room condition but there are no swimming pool.
this hotel placed to close station and close to dongdaemoon shopping center. good staff and good room condition very cozy hotel
