Rather run down and in need of investment. Old fashioned can be good but just seemed stuck in the past. Very poor restaurant experience - poor range of choices on wine list (they could not supply a request for a dry white wine by the glass), range of breads and cheeses minimal and no mushrooms available at breakfast ..... in Italy in October!
Peace, tranquility, discreet and friendly service, excellent food - one of the best hotels we have stayed in.
Great atmosphere, great food great staff...
The excellent service and luxurious rooms are rivaled by the extraordinary beauty of the grounds of this historical estate.
Everything was simply wonderful, the rooms, the staff, the service, the food..
The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The food was fantastic which made our stay a very special one.
beautiful historic castle in stunning location - large comfortable rooms - good bed - absolute silence - great breakfast
dark restaurant with small choice - expensive snacks ( but this applies to almost everywhere in Italy)
Staff very very helpful, top class service. Stayed in a suite in the fattoria building and found it to be very relaxing and comfortable. Hotel recommended a driver for a wine tour of the area and he was superb.
great history and beautiful architecture
I travel and stay in many hotels all over the world both through work and holidays. I have to say I was very disappointed with the value for money. At €544 a night I felt I wasn't getting any of the personal touches that I'd expect for that price. The dinner was high even compared to expensive London restaurants at €160 for 2 the first night and €140 the second for essentially an uninspiring meal. In total I spent a little over €1400 for 2 nights. For the same price at New York or London hotels I'd expect a lot more.
wondefull histric place, good situation, excellent services.
