The place was clean.
Temp of the shower was either cold or ice pellets in the morning.
Walk to restaurants.
the pillows were comfortable
Construction was going on, we were not informed of this prior to reserving the room. Paint chips, woodwork missing, chips out of the surface of the tub etc etc. (I have pictures) Room smelled like stale cigarette smoke and mildew. The a/c was very loud......once we figured out how to turn it on! We had to locate a switch on a wall on the the opposite side of the room that read "summer/winter" in order to make the thing work. It was a very hot and humid night, to have had the a/c on when we arrived may have cut down on the smell of the room. Navigating the premisis was very difficult. We kept following signs pointing to an elevator to get to the 2nd floor but ended up wandering institutional looking hallways at 3am with no elevator in sight. The A, B, C, D, E, F, entrances? What the heck? This place is strange! To pay that amount of $ for this poor quality is absurd. Staff was nice but nice/courteous staff does not make up for everything else that was under par for the price. We could have stayed at a motel on the beach with similar conditions and paid much less money. My question is: WHY are you performing construction on this building at the time of the year in Maine?! I plan to make a complaint to the BBB.
Close to the highway
My non smoking room smelled like smoke.
Staff were apologetic when challenged with issues
Serious facility problems. Hallways are like institutions with scratches and holes. First room had a GFCI outlet that continuously set off (the loud click was unbearable). Backup room couldn't get AC working until we located the "Summer/Winter" wall switch. A/C was loud and not particularly efficient. Breakfast food was fine.
Always stay here when flying. Always clean, and nicely appointed for the price, which is always the best.
Leaving, by far, is the best part of this Days Inn.
Staff repeatedly accused my girlfriend and I of smoking in our room. When we booked this room, we asked for a Non-Smoking room. We didn't smoke inside the room. When a gaggle of potheads, in town for a local 'Secret Cup' cannabis festival came in and stank the entire wing up with hash (we know, because we interacted with them on their way in), staff repeatedly insisted that we had smoked in our room, even AFTER we had to reluctantly extend our stay due to schedule changes. After having paid (in advance) over $700 for a paltry 4 day stay, this came across as offensive, irritating, and unprofessional.
Free shuttle to airport taking me away from there.
Overpriced, smelly, dirty, bad breakfast, weird staff, overpriced, and overpriced. This 1.1 star shouldn't cost more than $59 a night, but they gauged me and my family when they were the only 2 star (Ha!) option coming in late at night after flight delays cancellations and the rental car agencies were closed.
Staff was friendly. Hotel is within 10 minute drive of the Portland waterfront. Ok for a one or two night place to sleep.
Hotel felt old and smelled slightly musty. A/C was loud and not particularly efficient. Breakfast food was fine but room where it is offered was small and noisy.
Very clean and freindly, price excellent for room, plenty of chairs, nice TV with easy read finding channels, very good breakfast, bed comfortable
No frig, second floor Hall nice, but need to do 1st floor Hall, towels were scratchy, need another elevator, long walk with suitcase using elevator
The shuttle drivers and registration people were absolutely GREAT!!
No outlet for charging the computer or phone.
Close to the airport, right across from the Maine Mall. Good value for the money.
Seemed like a lot of groups of teenagers were staying there and were loud.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is excellent: near the interstate, mall and airport. Always stay here when traveling to Portland.
The staff was friendly and the location was very good right next to the maine mall and the highway.
When we arrived our room wasn't cleaned very well. There were shavings in the sink and urine on the toilet seat from the last guests still. The water in the shower and sink was constantly cold and not even warm for our whOle stay. And after a lot of traveling the maids were making a lot of noise and vacuuming at 7:30 in the morning on a saturday. The free breakfast wasn't good at all.
The entire staff that we came in contact with were very outgoing, personable, with smiles on their faces.
first floor room though convenient, was very noisy, due to being next to turnpike. continental breakfast was ok, for the overall cost of the room the entire stay was a reasonable value
Great price, great location. It has a pretty decent atmosphere, very warm and inviting.
The beds are a little hard, and if you aren't an early riser and want to take advantage of the continental breakfast...good luck, after 9am its slim pickings.
staff was friendly and accommodating.
shower wasn't hot. would alternate between really warm and room temperature
Close to the airport & shopping with a Chili's restaurant onsite. Staff friendly enough, airport shuttle prompt & included breakfast good with made omelettes & fresh waffle machines. I would stay there again for the economy.
Rooms in the older wing tired and poorly finished. Newer wing OK. Very long corridors.
-light above sink not working properly -we requested a 4:30am shuttle to the airport, but when we showed up they did not have room for us in the van( the clerk claimed he did not have us down for that time), so we had to wait 15 minutes, with another guest that was stood up, for the shuttle to come back and pick us up
clean, inexpensive, close to restaurants and the airport
Staff very friendly
Mold on the bathroom walls; wall looked like it was smeared with putty and not painted; rust on walls; pool had rough surfaces
We liked the location as it was right across from the Maine Turnpike exit and the Maine Mall. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby.
The wallpaper was peeling off the walls. They had used caulking around the ceiling and wall edges to keep the wallpaper in place. The beds were hard, we woke up with body aches and pains. The air conditioner would work for 10 minutes then quit. Had to unplug it and work the knobs until it started working again, but only for 10 more minutes before it quit again. The door was about an inch off the floor so all the hallway light streamed into the room along with the noise from the common areas (we were near the lobby). I had to roll up a towel to put under the door to stop the light from coming in and try to drown out some of the sound. It's a pet friendly hotel, but that meant we had to hear someone's dog barking through the night. As convenient as it was, we won't be staying here again.
Staff/dirty room/cheesy place
