Named after the Napoleonic commander who built the earliest roads in Dalmatia, the stylish and elegant Marmont Hotel is steeped in history. Not only that, but it is literally surrounded by history, since it is built within the precinct of Diocletian s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Yet the hotel forms a bridge between past and present, tradition and modernity, being a harmonious blend of 15th-century stone walls and clean, minimalist lines. The entrance and dining areas are particularly spectacular, with their rich wooden floors and LCD screens. In the rooms the focus is on creating warm, cosy spaces white walls are combined with contemporary dark walnut furniture, blanched oak flooring and beautiful cream damask materials to create an elegant, refined atmosphere.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Very well positioned easy access to all amenities - shopping, restuarants, busses, boats ,sightseeing. Beautifully appointed rooms, very modern and clean. As part of a large group we were all looked after extremely well just as if we were family. We would have no hesitation in recommending The Marmont Hotel.
Excellent location! Boutique hotel (rooms small) in the old, pedestrian only, part of Split. Gives a wonderful introduction to this city. If chartering a boat, you can take the water taxi directly to the aci docks.
A little tricky to find when the taxi let us off at the edge of the pedestrian part of town, but finding it was an adventure and it was not far. Have luggage with wheels! Bring your own washcloth and showercap.
Good location, helpful staff
Breakfast could be improved. Bathroom needs towel rails and a proper overhead shower would be an advantage.
Attractive room. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location
The shower panel was fixed so you had to get in to the bath to turn on the tap.the air conditioning only worked if the window was shut but there was no notice to this effect so I spent some time fiddling then had to phone reception
Excellent location; very friendly staff; cool design; spacious rooms
Parking difficulties (partly due to the excellent location :-); breakfast good, but not outstanding
