Clean and the staff was good, but the hotel it self was old and not in a good way, If your into cheap 1950's then here's your place. I would say it's a little over priced for what you got. If I'm ever back in Springfield I'll shop around.
Great downtown location, within walking distance to all the historic and tourist locations. Great staff, clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast - would stay there again if ever back in Springfield!
While the room was ok, it wasn't what I would consider a 4 star hotel. Upon arrival there was a long line to checkin and the desk person seemed flustered. I tried to lighten the mood and smile, there was no having that, being treated curtly and no eye contact at all. The room was clean when we got there, having a change in plans we ended up staying 2 nights (having to pay much more for the second night because we were not 'prebooked' the next day when we got back the beds were made BUT the garbage was not taken out and the floor not vaccumed. The breakfast is supposed to be the best part of the stay, unfortunately we couldn't get it. One weekends they 'open late' and we needed to be out by 7:30a., so whats the point in staying for the great breakfast. I would never pay full price for this hotel, and it is actually making me think twice about using the 'secert hotel' option. We have to go back to Springfield for 5 nigthts in a month, so I'm thinking about using a different service for the next reservation.
Great location! You could walk to everything! Clean room, free Internet, good breakfast! The furniture was early 60's, but that was on purpose.
Very cool lobby & a great room even though it was a smoking room which only had a faint residue of smoke mustiness to it. I obtained my reservation late in the week and only smoking rooms were available. That tells me that the hotel should just declare all rooms non smoking and trumpet that fact. Also, the breakfast line and all tables on Saturday morning were jam packed. They may as well get started at 6:30am to relieve congestion, though my son and I may not have had the opportunity to sit at a table with a nice couple from Evansville, IN.
One of the worst points of this hotel was parking. We arrived very late at night with a baby and multiple luggage. There was nowhere to unload by the front door of the hotel so we had to park in the back far corner of the parking lot (once a space opened up) and carry everything quite a walk to the the lobby to check in. The best part about the hotel was the warm complimentary breakfast in the morning and the cozy soft beds to sleep in. Overall, I was unimpressed with the hotel room, felt like it was a three star room trying to be leveled up to a four star by adding spa products and robes.
Not the best of areas but nice amenities once inside the room. 2 walls in our room were stained as if soda had been sprayed on them. A little more detail to cleaning would go a long way!
Great downtown location, quiet, very friendly staff and great continentaql breakfast.
I stayed at the hotel because the hotels nearer to the convention center were already full. I found the hotel to be clean and moderately quiet. The rooms are clean and the amenities excellent. I found the bed to be comfortable to sleep in. I would stay in this hotel again if I return to Springfield.
Walking distance to many downtown sites. Our favorites from the hotel....the sixties decor, comfortable beds, complimentary breakfast (amazing variety of foods) and welcoming staff. We would not stay anywhere else in Springfield. Stayed 2 days, family of four, in a suite. Only downside was that the windows were dirty, just housekeeping issue.
This hotel provides easy access to all of downtown Springfield. The capital and all 'Lincoln' attractions are within walking distance. The staff is very friendly and the facility is clean and well appointed. I will be staying there whenever I am in Springfield and I would recommend this hotel to all.
Not bad for the price. Great location. This hotel was situated downtown. Ample parking
The rooms were clean and comfortable with all the little extras you expect. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hot breakfast bar in the morning was a nice treat and a great way to start the day. All-in-all a great experience.
