What we liked best about this hotel was the location & breakfast was included.
Room was the overpriced, considering the two-star rating. Lack of cleanliness: dirty socks, food found on floor in our room. Staff was aloof, not particularly friendly nor polite. Breakfast was very unhealthy: processed food and muffins loaded with sugar.
the hometel in a great location to downtown or roads leading to other places. Its a quiet street,& I felt very safe & comfortable staying there by myself and walking around the neighborhood or downtown area. Included breakfast which had many choices GREAT
The parking could be a bit tricky a small car is much easier to park, adjacent streets you had to be careful of permit only areas.
After reading other reviews online, I had high expectations for this place. I was very disappointed. The bad things about the place include that it is VERY small room. There was no place to sit, so I ended up sitting on the floor most of the time. A desk or chair to sit and read emails would be nice. The internet was hit or miss most of the time. Parking was ridiculous. The bed was one of the worst I have ever slept in. The free breakfast was not at all looked after and there was never a knife anywhere to be found and never any coffee made. The good thing about this hotel was that it was in a great location. We close by many things, but there re other hotels even closer, so I would choose one of those instead. The room was clean and seemed newer. Overall, my husband and I were not happy here at all.
Clean, comfortable, and convenient to the city center.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Hometel from October 22-29, 2008. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and decor of the room. We are light sleepers and had a bit of trouble with noise on the first night. The sound was coming in through the air conditioner unit. The staff was very helpful and removed the unit for remainder of our trip. We slept much better after that. I have included a photo of our room: The location is very convenient. It is close to downtown and to Signal Hill. My boyfriend and I enjoy photography, so this worked well for us to get sunrise and sunset shots without having to drive far. I must add that the continental breakfast is superb. They had fresh fruit, toast, cereal, muffins, yogourt, hard-boiled eggs, coffee and tea. It was much more than I was expected and really helped to get the day going. I would definitely stay here again, and I will recommend Hometels to others.
