I didn't like that I made a reservation and my room wasn't ready. We waited 30 minutes before we got a room. They were so nice the upgrade to a suite and got free breakfast.
Price, location and cafe were very good.
The very, very, very long wait to check in. Computers don't work. There's also the $50 deposit that was not mentioned when I booked through Kayak. Booked queen beds...got doubles. Funiture is beatup. Room was old dirty, carpets need to be ripped out since they are stained everywhere. Won't be staying here again.
The place was quiet and inviting. Not seen directly off of the main road
There were small ants in the room The hotel door couldn't close smoothly on its on. As if it was misaligned.
The staff were very friendly and apologetic, even when we changed rooms multiple times. Darrell, in particular, was great.
The hotel is poorly maintained and the rooms smell horrible. The first room smelled like an ashtray, the second like a flooded basement. I should point out that I have a pretty high tolerance for bad smells so the rooms smell RANK. We finally got a room that just smelled old so we kept that. The decor is mid-70s and t he hotel has clearly not been renovated since it was a Holiday Inn. One of the rooms was missing the stock pictures on the wall and they hadn't even bothered to spackle in the giant wall anchor holes. Also, the main curtains don't close (just the inner, semi-transparent ones) so you won't be sleeping in and everyone gets a free show if you have the lights on. Another problem is that the hotel only has one key writer, which occasionally breaks. We met people who had been without keys for days. I think hotel staff had to open their door for them. This place should not be in business. They are THAT bad. Stay away!
We showed up a day early and were treated just great. They put us in a fabulous room and we didn't have one complaint
Former Holiday Inn. Adequate parking, very congenial staff. Spacious & VERY quiet room.
