We could not turn the heat off. Staff explained when the heat was turned on for the winter, you can't turn it off completely. We had to sleep with the window open--not a good feeling on the main floor.
The hotel needs updating. The first room we were given was very musty and we had to be moved. I had asked if we could be moved to a renovated room so the woman moved us to one of their better rooms poolside. It was not much better and in need of updating.I would not choose to stay at the Bridgeview again. The 3 star rating needs to be reviewed as based on the 2 rooms we were given, I would not give the hotel higher than 2 stars. The pool room was dingy, the bathroom door wouldn't close and I wouldn't walk on the carpet without slippers or shoes. We were woken up with dogs barking at 5:30 a.m. then the pool maintenance started at 6 a.m. I would not reccommend this hotel and was very disapointed with the price for what we experienced.
No micro wave in the room. Bridgeview is deceiving because you can't see the bridge from there unless you are out on the road!
The linens were clean.
Though it was clean on the surface, there were many areas that were not clean. And it smelled.I would not say this was a 3 star hotel. I'd put it maybe 1 1/2 to 2 stars. It was acceptable but just barely. Not a good hotel for the elderly or handicapped.
easy access off of freeway. front desk staff friendly and polite.
housekeeping staff not as friendly as the front desk staff. Did notice housekeeping staff complaining about have to work on certain days and helping themselves/taking a break at the breakfast/pool area.2 story level hotel. older hotel. snack shop inside hotel. big pool area w poolside rooms avail. rooms do offer a frig and microwave.close to decent steak house and 4 liquor stores within walking distance. room furnishings bit outdated. small bathrooms. location of hotel in an industrial area, a little run down with some road work being done. only 12 minutes from Duluth, Mn. Overall, decent for 1 night stay.
Nice selection at Breakfast. Pool looked decent, but it was closed for the hours we were there.I used the express deal to score a 3 star hotel for xxx. I wish I would have paid the extra $30.00 for a room at a competitor. My husband exclaimed as we pulled into the parking lot, 'This is a 3 star hotel?!?!' This is definitely not a 3 star hotel in my mind. It just has the look and feel of 'old' building, worn carpet, outdated design. Furnishings were newer, in room fridge was a plus!It is a great place to stay if you are coming into town and need a few hours of rest. The building has an 'old' smell, and the beds were hard. The surrounding area had construction everywhere and the parking lot was difficult to navigate because it was so tightly packed and in disrepair. I think priceline has over-rated this hotel, so my expectations were 'extremely' high compared to this. I use priceline regularly on my travels and I generally am not disappointed like this. On a positive ...
the room was updated and acceptable
age of hotel, breakfast offerings seem of low quality.
Some reviews say this hotel is outdated. I agree, but it has a lot of history. I learned a lot about the ships that have traveled the great lakes by reading the pictures around the hotel. Room was clean, well kept with Really Cool facet fixtures.
Close to road,(road noise) which I am not use to. breakfast was OK. I have seen better. but for the price it was great. my kids loved the pool. I only stayed the one night...as I was travelling through.I learned a lot about the ships that have traveled the great lakes by reading the pictures around the hotel. Room was clean, well kept.
Close to Duluth. Breakfast poolside was nice.
Not much to do within walking distance. We had a nice night at this hotel. It is a little 'worn' put everything was clean. The staff were all friendly. The pool wasn't as warm as I like, but they have a nice hot tub too.
Smell of chlorine from pool ,noise level, location, mold in shower, dirty windows, traffic and bad location. This is not a three star hotel. I paid for three stars and got two. If you live in a trailer park you will feel at home here.
