Located in the heart of the Sydney CBD, moments from Darling Harbour, The Rocks and the Sydney Opera House, The Menzies Hotel offers perfect city accommodation for business travellers, couples or families exploring the best that Sydney has to offer. The Carrington, Piano Bar, One Four Kitchen and Platform One Bar offer unique and distinctive settings that set them among Sydney's favourite meeting spots.
The best feature of this hotel is the friendly staff. The concierge was extremely helpful in pointing out many restaurants and sights to see. Every time we came in contact with a staff member they were smiling and said hello. The rooms were clean and the location is great. Only a short distance to all the main attractions in downtown Sydney. A great choice.
Great indoor pool and sauna.
Room was outdated, beds weren't comfortable.
Proximity to all train Darling Harbour/ferries resteraunts Piano bar
Bathrooms dirty homeless people out front
nothing in particular
I didnt like the fact that it was advertised as a room with a park vei, that i had to pay extra for. But all I could see of the park out my tiny window was the train terminal entrance.
The food & rms were wonderful
The location was ideal for sightseeing. The staff extremely friendly and helpful. The room was really clean and comfortable.
The food was good but a little bit on the expensive side.
Great location right opposite Wynyard Station (where the homeless people sleep at night).
The hotel is fine but a bit tired. A three star hotel that charges as though it is a four star. (Not sure what the official rating is).
The staff were very friendly and very helpful. We really felt comfortable during our stay
I found the staff in general to be helpful, which made the stay enjoyable. The location is also very good for people visiting Sydney.
The hall way on the 6th floor smells like death and mold. Also to have as many rooms as you do and only two staff on the front desk makes for a long wait for check in and check out.
It is centrally located
Staff and particularly management were unpleasant and arrogant. Had a long discussion as we discovered that they charged, upon arrival and without asking our authorization, our credit card with $ 100 for presumed hotel charges. Insisted this is invariably done in all hotels in the world. This after we had totally prepaid our stay in cash. We chose to pay cash as the hotel charges 1.
Staff so friendly - made my stay more memorable.
