The location was closed when I got there. How was I able to make a reservation at 5pm when the place closes at 5pm? On top of that, I got there at 4:50 p.m and the location was closed. I attempted to go to the airport Avis location and swap my reservation there but the rate was 3x more expensive and the reservation non transferable. Ended up not getting a car and had to cancel all my plans for the weeeknd. On top of all of this, Avis is now charging me a no show fee.8.8 Very good

Pros:
We got ourselves a full-size sedan to travel up and down the Pacific coast, and the car handled great. The car, a Toyota Camry, also was able to accommodate all of our hefty luggage with no problem. The Camry was stingy on gas, which saved us a lot of money when we had to fill it up upon its return to the Oakland airport. The young lady there was very helpful in getting us on our way to the shuttle, too.Cons:
Avis needs to let people know that it's located inside the Hilton. The mailing address is completely misleading, and there is absolutely no signage to help you find the place or to distinguish it from all the other car rental places on O'Farrell Street. Also, the woman behind the pickup counter kept trying to upsell us to an SUV after the sedan was already paid for and reserved. Don't do that, especially when the SUVs are gas hogs and gas is over four bucks a gallon!Dollar

When making the reservation online I was told the amount I would pay on picking up the vehicle was around $650. But when I went to retrieve my vehicle 3000 miles away from my house and needing to get to an important meeting, I was told my total would be $1600.6.4 Okay

I paid for an upgrade to a larger car but the back seat was so small that we couldn't fit a person back there if there was a human in the front seat. Also, the rake lights and turn signal lights kept going out intermittently and the engine was so weak it literally could not climb the hills of San Francisco.6.0 Okay
