Great customer service It’s in all a great hotel in many ways. Restaurant, staff, rooms, you name it. I must recommend traveling to Peten, Guatemala, this December. It harbors the most important mayan cities in the world, making it the place to be on December for the change of mayan era, the 13 Bactun. I read that a great ceremony is taking place at Tikal (gorgeous ruin park) were the biggest uncovered mayan temples are located, with mayan ceremonies, and a spectacular light show at night. Im definitely going and of course staying al Camino Real.
Very well run Hotel with excellent attentive staff and lovely landscaping and surroundings. A bit isolated located on a beautiful lake several kilometers off the main Flores-Tikal highway down a very bumpy road. Great and not a problem if you're staying mostly at the resort or taking a package group tours. The hotel provides a shuttle to and from the Flores Airport several times a day and will drop you off in El Remate where you can get a bus to and from the Mayan ruins at Tikal if you want to go on your own. However, its a long walk or a $* USD cab ride back to the Hotel from El Remate in the afternoon. Food was excellent, but while the room rate was great vslue for the money the restaurant prices were more like those you find in the US or Europe.
