Ended up needing an additional room at the last minute, which cost me more than twice the price. The carpets are stained, the seating dirty, the towels aren't white, although I think they are supposed to be, the shower curtains are dirty and sticky and my shower head was caked with dried soap and scum. I had pointedly asked about the trains and was told there weren't any, only to have what seemed like an endless line of them blowing whistles all night as they roared past on the other side of the highway. This hotel turned out to be the closest to the tracks. Very noisy. On top of that, no internet when we arrived. Apparently it only works in certain rooms and floors. People on the first floor had to go to the dining area or stand in the hallway for any hope of a connection. They did finally decide to get someone in and actually put in a new router to fix the problem, but that was on our last day there. To be fair, they did adjust the price a little on the rooms for the inconvenience of having to go find a hot spot. Can't recommend this hotel - there are plenty of others nearby.
The hotel is clean and close to all I Travel a lot and stay at 4 to 5 star places and this one is pretty good for 3 stars
Have stayed here before with no complaint but on this trip the breakfast buffet was lacking. It seemed there was no attendant on duty to refill foods that ran out or make coffee or to even clean up after 'very messy' guests. Saturday morning there was no more regular coffee and there was cereal and milk all over the counter and no one around. We purposely got up earlier on Sunday to beat the crowd and it was better but still no staff.
The pool and the fitness equipment were all good. They shampooed the carpet in our room before we got there so the carpet was wet the entire first day and no one notified us of that at check in. Otherwise, room was great, good location.
Had a lovely stay at this hotel. Staff was attentive and friendly, everything was clean and in good working order. Room could have used some updates, but for the price, it was wonderful. I'd definitely stay there again.
My family of 5 was driving from CA to TX and reserved and paid in advance for a room at this hotel. Being a family of 5 it was important that we have 2 Queen beds and the fold out sofa. The fact that this hotel offered a room like that made it that much more attractive. We didn't arrive until 11:30pm (it was a long trip) and when I went to check in I was told it was an oversold situation and they moved us to a King bed room with a rollaway. I was very unhappy but too tired to argue. When I got to the room it was the one I reserved - 2 queen beds and sofa. I set the room up (removed pillows, turned down sheets) in anticipation of my family joining me after they parked only to be told minutes later that they accidently gave me the wrong key. What?!? So they sold my pre-paid for room to someone else that wasn't even there yet! Needless to say because I had already undid the beds they let us stay but were very rude about it. 30 minutes later the front desk called our room to ask us to sign some other paperwork. We promptly told them everyone was in bed asleep and would sign in the morning. The following morning the new person at the front desk acknowledged that since I prepaid there was nothing further for me to sign. So, if you want a basic hotel room that is clean and close to I10 this is a fine option but make sure you call if you happen to show up late. I can only hope that would have made this uncomfortable situation better.
We visited during the big gem and mineral show, and they had some of the best rates in town. Very clean, pleasant staff, and there's a Wal-Mart nearby.
very comfortable place. Service excellent. Management excellent. Would come back again and recommend it to my friends
Even in the middle of the night when I went to the car, a staff member made sure I was safe. We were very happy with this hotel and would definitely stay there again.
This property is just what you would expect for the type of property it is -- an economy motel with a very convenient location. If you are passing through for a couple of nights, and need a convenient, clean and moderately priced accommodation, this property is just fine. The train passing in the middle of the night, blowing its whistle several times, was definitely a drawback, however.
This hotel is fairly easy to get to and is nice and clean. With the exception of the 3rd shift young man, the staff members were not friendly at all. It seemed like it was a chore to actually acknowledge their guests! All the front desk personnel were very efficient though. The pool is very small and we were unable to use it because it is outdoors. The weather was cool and rainy while we were there. Security - we discovered one of the outer doors did not lock at night.
Great location, was surprised that Marana had so much to do. Hotel was excellent and so was the staff
The check in front desk clerk was very polite, knowledgeable and informative (Arizona doesn't change their clocks--daylight savings time). On the other side of the coin; the daytime check-out clerk was a bit indifferent. Nice Gym and good breakfast. I also utilized laundry facilities (nice). The only real negative thing I can say was that the hallways smelled musty and of cigarette smoke. My room didn't smell that way though.
WOW WOW WOW I travel 4 days a month and stay in a different city and hotel each time. I have never went to any hotel where the second I walked in someone was giving me 100% attention! I walked in and was immediatly greeted and given such a warm and wonderful welcome, it was like going home after being gone a long time. I didn't have to ask for one thing, the person working the desk asked every question, like she could just read my mind, I later found out that she is the manager of the hotel, and to have a manager working the desk and caring so much about what her guests need and already knowing it was WOW. When I checked out the next clerk was just as friendly and even said she hoped I returen again. The hotel was so clean, smelled good, the entire staff was great, the breakfast needs a few things like more fruit and yogurt but I loved it. I hope my job sends me back to Tucson so I can stay again.
We had to make a long weekend trip to Tucson to visit my ailing mother-in-law, so based on price, location and other reviews we picked this hotel. What a mistake. After arriving and checking in with a less than enthusiastic desk clerk we went to our room. The carpeting was FILTHY, but we figured we would just make sure to wear socks. After showering and unpacking, the air conditioner in our room decided to quit. It was 109* outside. I called the front desk and the clerk told me he was busy and would call me back, I told him this was rather important considering the temperature outside. He called back 5 minutes later and told me to come to the front desk for a new room, and the only room they had was on a different floor. So we had to pack all of our belongings back in the suitcases and move to another room without the aid of any staff, and by this time it was after 10 PM. We got to our new room, same dirty carpeting and the deadbolt on the door wouldn't close. At least the upper safety latch worked. During the stay housekeeping neglected to leave any coffee cups, or coffee, we ran out of tissues and toilet paper, too. Also, probably half the outlets in the room didn't work. Lastly, the free breakfast was horrible, stale bagels and cinnamon roles, maybe the waffles were OK, I didn't bother. Do NOT stay here, insolent staff, filthy carpeting, etc.
I knew from the reviews that a train ran by the hotel. What I didn't realize was that it went by 3 times in a night & blew its horn several times as it went by. I woke up each time. I can't image why they ever built this nice hotel in such close proximity to a train track. Anyway I would not recommend going there to anyone who likes to sleep at night. Also the continental breakfast was all carbs, no fruit or yogurt like most DI's have.
