full service breakfast not included.
Room did have a bit of a musty smell. Once AC was running, did not seem as bad.
Nice clean hotel
No complimentary breakfast and gym was a joke
Staff was great and the rooms were very clean .There was a guy there who offered to help me get my luggage out of the car.
Nothing, I have no complaints about the staff or the rooms.
The staff was very friendly, room was nice and clean. The entire hotel looked nice.
The breakfast could have been a little better. Paid $25 for me and my wife but it left a little to be desired for that price.
The desk clerk was cold, unfriendly and rude. Zero hospitality!
nice, constant run ACs.good pillows
Cleanliness and location
Expected some for of free breakfast. Definitely not $11.
Clean with nice staff
Clean. Up to date.
Everything was great.
Area, Bed was comfortable
No Breakfast! Ice Machine broken.
It was close to everything!
The pool was a disappointment, to small and no hot tub.
Was not informed they would put a $30 hold on my card so now I am over drafted.
Location was great for shopping and dinner ....hotel was very nice for 3star
didn't like they put us to the back of the hotel walk was to much for my mom
Staff was great, location, easy to deal with
The service and the room
I had room next to me a couple in the room they were yelling and thrown in the wall at 3am could not go back to sleep breakdown was good but too expensive
Rude front desk would not get me a wine glass young financially embarrassed woman told me kitchen closed and there was still party going on on top the the pure ignorance . I've spent more they she has made I've been member since 2003 and I'm only 31 wow ?
The hotel charged me again for the stay when I checked in. Saw this on bank statement next day. Was told 5 days before money back in account. They tried to credit me, placed multiple other credits on my account, and my bank is still trying to fix it all.
Rooms have been recently updated
The restaurant was under renovation...I would like to have known that.
location and they provided internet code.
no real restaurant which was under repair, some ballroom made up for it ? I declined first room assigned , next to elevator, and not with a king size bed. Second room was better, my impression: book through a discount provider, get the shaft.
The location was good.
First the ice machine did not work on my floor. Secondly the tub did not drain so when you took a shower the water just filled the tub.
Staff tried to be accommodating and helpful.
A/C unit in first room had a terrible rattle. 2nd room smelled like smoke and paint. 3rd room, which I settled on, there were no batteries in the tv remote. Hallways are not air conditioned.
Parking lot was scary. Hallway floors were heavily stained. Poor quality.
We got a handicap room which wasn't what we wanted or expected, this made the hole experience not too fun, my husband is really tall and we wanted a regular room that couldn't get because that is all they had, wish we would have known before!
the beds were not very comfortable and the air conditioning did not get as cold as would have liked
not enough handicap parking spaces no free breakfast
young gentleman checking us in was fabulous. We questioned him about an NBA playoff game. By the time we reached our room he called to let us know what channel to find the game.
Breakfast is not included at this hotel! It would cost 11 bucks per person!! I've never been to any holiday that does not have breakfast included!
I will try to avoid this hotel, next time.
It was clean
Advertised, free breakfast...no free breakfast it was $11. Pool was under construction. Only had doubles, advertised having queens also. Disappointed overall in regards to amenities. ...
It was ok. Nothing stood out.
Woke up at 730 in the morning with water pouring out of the ceiling in the bathroom Had to pack up and move to another room Because we booked thru Priceline the hotel could not comp our room Very disappointed It was our 23 wedding anniversary
The room we were given smelled very strongly of smoke
Nothing. It was horrific
It is not a 3 star hotel. I do not recommend it to anyone!
The bed was very comfortable.
The hotel was undergoing major remodeling, so 1)it was difficult to get in and out of, 2)the majority of the pubic spaces were roped off,3)construction crews operated in nearby rooms with saws and hammers blazing at 9 am, and 4)it still cost the same.
The bed was comfortable and staff quite pleasant
The toilet had been used when I arrived. The water was all scorching hot, no cold. The thermostat did not operate properly and was very hot at night. The in room coffee was awful.
The staff was nice
It was under a major renovation and I did not let us know prior to our Arival the bathrooms are tiny the shower don't work good
Dirty and old
The location was great.
It was old! I don't know how it received a 3 1/2 star rating. The fire alarm also went off at 5am and a staff person was yelling through the halls that the steam from the shower set off the alarm.
The room was comfortable, clean, and adequate.
They tried to bait and switch the free complimentary hot breakfast they boasted about on their website. I was informed that anyone that booked through Priceline was not entitled to the breakfast and would have to pay $10.99.
This hotel was ranked 3 stars but the hotel was run down and internet did not work. When you are traveling on business and not able to get wifi is extremely disruptive to productivity. The gym consisted of a couple of run down old tredmills from the 1980's. Whatever I paid for this hotel was too much. I am disappointed that a trusted travel tool like priceline had this hotel ranked 3 stars when it was nowhere near that in my evaluation.
It is old and Not what I would consider 3 star.
The location was convenient.
It was dirty and renovation done poorly. I had a cockroach in my room. There were bugs in the hallways the staff did not vacuum. The staff said it was bug season - it is what it is. The hotel was gross.
This hotel was packed due to a convention. We ended up with a room on the 3rd floor way in the back. It was closer and quicker for us to take the stairs than the elevator. The bathroom was small the pillows were hard and the microwave was prehistoric. The TV didnt have many channels and it buzzed when it came on. If you decide to stay Id ask to see a room first.
My stay was excellent customers , clerks housekeeping great...
I have stayed at most of the hotels in Tyler including the newer ones but I will always come back to the Holiday Inn and this is why it is always clean, close to everthing you need in Tyler but the biggest reason is the hotel staff you will not get the service or find a staff that cares more about you than they do at the Holiday Inn. I do not understand why there is no reveiws since 2008. Check out this hotel it is were I will always stay.
The Holiday Inn Select Hotel is by far the nicest hotel between Dallas and Shreveport. The service is impeccable and the new remodel has turned a great hotel into a Grand Hotel. I have stayed at several properties in Tyler, and HI Select definately has my vote for the 'best place to stay in East Texas.' Other details that were impressive to me, included the 'all day' room service, shuttle service and access to Woodcreek Athletic Club.
We paid a $* non-refundable fee to bring our dog. Their policy is that they will not clean your room if the dog is in there. Not a big deal, but when we asked for clean towels, they gave us hand towels. They didn't ask us if we needed more soaps (we did) or other supplies. The bed was great. The staff at the front desk were not especially nice, although the workers, like the guy who brought us a roll-away bed were very kind. This hotel is overpriced. The rooms are not that big. The service isn't that great. The bed was very comfortable. I didn't enjoy the facility.
I chose the Select rather than the Express because of location. I was very disappointed in the condition of the room. Very dated. And had to shut off the A/C to hear the TV.
There was a air conditioner leak in my room that the hotel new about and sent the people to fix it, but did not change our room, so that meant we had to walk on the wet floor all night.
former Sheraton is tired and needs updating. plaster falling off ceilings. Nice bedding and pool. overhaul the rest!
