The vehicle - a Nissan Frontier, i booked wasn’t available because they said the online stock of vehicles isn’t always accurate. They left me no choice to but to spend about $15 more on a big Dodge 2500 pickup truck to go biking. The truck is way too big for the purpose I needed and cost of fuel to power the monster is way higher then necessary. My whole point of renting vehicles is because I have other ways to commute to work so I don’t need a car on the day to day. I’m trying to be eco-conscious, so having behemoth of a vehicle for a single person to go ride a mountain bike is ridiculous.5.2 Fair

The car handled well, was fairly new, and overall mostly enjoyable.Cons:
The car had police evidence stickers still on it from god knows what. In addition, one morning the car would not start. I have experience as a mechanic and found that the positive battery terminal was loose and not making a good electrical connection. I fixed this and the car was fine for the rest of my trip. Needless to say, this should not happen and I should not need to diagnose and repair my own rental car. Perhaps a better pre-rental vehicle check would help?7.6 Good

I was disappointed in the selection of vehicles I was able to rent. I had paid for an intermediate SUV and was given an option between a small one and an intermediate one. I went with the intermediate Nissan Rogue because I was told that it both radar cruise control and apple car play, both of which I asked for when renting the vehicle. Unfortunately, neither of those features were available on the vehicle I rented and I ended up driving almost 2000 miles without them. I was disappointed in the comfort of the ride and the lack of features of the vehicle and won't be renting from Hertz in the future.6.4 Okay

They didn't have the car we requested. They gave a "free" upgrade but required us to pay added fees. It took longer to pick up the car as they had many unhappy customers waiting.8.0 Very good
