I actually only stayed one night, the location is lovely.
Only one person spoke a little English which was a problem as I was ill. I had to move back to Ushuaia and had great difficulty explaining my problem and trying to get some money back. Also there was no one else staying there and so felt very isolated.
Practically, we didn't like almost anything at the Australis Kauyeken. There was one receptionist that was friendly and one of the bus operators was really nice.
It is really far from Ushuaia, really old and badly maintained, there are cracks on the walls, the sink and the bathtub, the night staff was unfriendly, most of the staff didn't speak a word in English, the breakfast was poor and far from fresh, the restaurant is deserted, there is no wifi and no mobile phone signal. Overall it is a bad option and extremely overpriced.
Nothing - it was awful. There is nothing to recommend about it. It was completely misrepresented in your literature.
Location - not 6km from downtown, more like 10km - involved taxi fares four times a day. Hotel "shuttle" only went into town & back twice a day, at inconvenient times. Breakfast - very poor, hardly any choice, cheap, nasty produce. Awful atmosphere in dining room, with an incompentant waiter. Dirty. Reception - one staff member helpful, the other two were not. On arrival, we were given no information. The facilities stated on your website were news to us - staff didn't tell us anything about them (if they existed)! Room - basic and not very clean. Constant noise was unbearable. Ceilings/walls paper-thin. Very loud footstep noise day & night. Disrupted our sleep and ruined our stay. What a nightmare.
